Dodgers wins epic Game 7 in Toronto

What a wild game!

In a Game 7 for the ages, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 5-4 in 11 innings in Toronto, securing their ninth championship and becoming the first team to repeat since the 2000 Yankees.

Trailing 4-3 entering the ninth, the Dodgers mounted a stunning comeback, tying the game on Miguel Rojas’s improbable solo home run off closer Jeff Hoffman with two outs—a blast that barely cleared the wall and forced extras. The Jays, who had dominated much of the series with strong pitching from veterans like 41-year-old Max Scherzer (clutch in relief) and rookie phenom Cade Yesavage, couldn’t close the door despite leading for most of the night.

The Blue Jays had so many chances to win this game, but it slipped through their hands.

This seven-game epic, featuring an 18-inning Game 3 marathon, cemented the 2025 World Series as an instant classic.

“I don’t believe what I just saw!” – Jack Buck and the greatest call in baseball history

We keep losing videos that have the audio of this great call from Game 1 of the 1988 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Oakland A’s. Jack Buck is calling the game, and if you can find the video, you’ll hear Buck’s legendary call of Kirk Gibson’s shocking home run.

World Series ratings plummet

The Boston Red Sox dominated the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series 4-1, but the ratings were pretty bad as detailed in this article. For many this is a surprise given the matchup of two iconic franchiese from large markets. This will be a hot topic for debate, but the late start for the games has to be addressed.

Fans go crazy for the Cubs

There’s nothing like a grand slam home run to take the lead in the eighth inning during the playoffs. The Chicago Cubs are the favorites in the NLCS against the Dodgers, and scenes like this from their crazy fans make you think this just might be the year when the curse if broken.

MLB Playoff Predictions

This may well be my last post for a while on The Scores Report, so I figured what better way to go out than with some way-too-early playoff predictions? I’ll forecast each of Major League Baseball’s six division winners as well as each league’s two wild card teams. You know, so all my readers can come back and mock my wild inaccuracy in two months time.
