Living Lighter: Five things Tom Brady should do instead of watching “Hard Knocks”

This series is supported by LACOSTE Essential Sport.

Tom Brady recently said he hates the Jets so he’s not going to support them by watching “Hard Knocks.” Good for him.

Free of charge, here are five suggestions of things he could do instead:

5. Go antiquing…with his wife, Gisele Bundchen.
What’s antiquing, you ask? Well, it’s the act of shopping for antiques. (Don’t laugh.) The thought of it would make most men want to run their heads straight into a steel pole, but if you could afford to buy anything you want and follow this around all day, you’d make an exception too.

4. Take a cooking class…with Gisele.
My mother used to say that nothing tastes better than a home cooked meal. So why not take a cooking class with Gisele? Think of all the fun nights they’d have in the kitchen making dinner – clothing optional. Who knows, maybe this scene will ensue.

3. Wash his car…with Gisele.
He wouldn’t be a red blooded American male if he wasn’t out in the driveway doing something on the weekends. So why not wash that new Mercedes, and ask Gisele to pitch in? And maybe she wears nothing but a white T-shirt and some jean shorts? And gets a little wet? We’re just spitballin’ here, right?

2. Go horseback riding…with Gisele.
Rent a couple of stallions, hit the trail with the wife and see what happens. Breathe in the fresh air and soak up the sun. Maybe after a little truth or dare, she’ll agree to ride bareback.

1. Go lingerie shopping…with Gisele.
How great would it be to go to Victoria’s Secret with a Victoria’s Secret model? Only a handful of guys have that opportunity and Tom Brady is one of them. He should take advantage, and spend the afternoon in the dressing rooms letting Gisele model all that Victoria’s Secret has to offer.

The truth is, everything’s better with Gisele.

Tony Parker to the Knicks? Just ask his wife…

Happy couple Eva Longoria and husband Tony Parker enjoy the USA vs France basketball game in NYC, NY on August 15, 2010 where they watched Hollywood husband Lamar Odom play and were joined in the seats by director Spike Lee. Fame Pictures, Inc

Per the NY Post

The couple was at sold-out Red Bull Arena last night in Harrison, N.J., to watch their friend Thierry Henry and the Red Bulls lose 1-0 to the L.A. Galaxy.

Asked if Parker’s presence meant he was coming to New York, she responded, “No, we’re just here watching [Henry].”

Asked if her husband wanted to come to New York, she quickly flashed a smile, nodded her head and said, “Yes.”

The Knicks’ dream would be to acquire Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul, but unless Paul forces a trade, the earliest he could sign outright would be the Summer of 2012. Parker wouldn’t be a bad backup plan if it looks like Paul is going to stay put in New Orleans.

Parker will be 29 next summer and has had trouble staying healthy. He has missed 49 games over the last three seasons. He definitely has the speed to run D’Antoni’s system, though I don’t know if he has the vision. He has never averaged more than seven assists per game, and isn’t the traditional pass-first point guard.

However, if he’s the third wheel behind Melo and Amare, I’m sure he would adjust. It’s just that Stoudemire is so good on the pick-and-roll and Parker isn’t the greatest passer in those situations.

Parker just has one year left on his contract and will be a free agent next summer.

Take Sasha Vujacic…please!

Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Lakers are trying to move Sasha Vujacic:

Sources said Lakers are trying to trade Sasha Vujacic wfirst round pick to get his salary off books. They tried to do it for Delonte West.

IMO, Vujacic is hands down the most annoying player in the league. If I were running a team, the Lakers would have to include Pau Gasol or his girlfriend, Maria Sharapova, in the deal to get me to take on his contract/personality.

After a reasonably decent 2007-08 — 8.8 ppg, 44% 3PT — Sasha averaged 2.8 ppg and 31% from 3PT last season. The only productive thing he did all year was get under Goran Dragic’s skin in the Suns series, and even that almost backfired.

Obligatory pics (of Maria) after the jump, of course.
