Clippers in the running for Carmelo?

Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post thinks so:

Meanwhile, if the Nuggets cannot convince Carmelo Anthony to sign an extension with the team and they decide to trade him at some point, could it be to the Los Angeles Clippers? I’m hearing it could be a possibility. It would get both he and his wife, La La, out to where entertainment opportunities are plentiful, which is key factor in their decision to want to move on. The Nuggets might be able to get a good young player or two or draft picks, and Anthony would be able to play on a team with some good up-and-coming talent.

“I’m hearing it could be a possibility.”

I love statements like that. He’s not saying that it’s a possibility, he’s saying that it could be possible. In other words, it’s possible that it’s possible.

Great.

Clipper fans are a loyal, downtrodden bunch. Let them be. They just missed out on LeBron James even though they were never really in the running. Owner Donald Sterling vastly underestimates how bad his image is around the league, and the Clippers aren’t likely to have sustained success until he sells the team.

Strikeforce Houston: 10 Things Learned

E. Spencer Kyte breaks down 10 things that HeavyMMA.com learned from Strikeforce Houston.

Down with the King
Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante ended “King Mo” Lawal’s reign, delivering on the promise that was seemingly washed away when he failed to prepare and lost to Mike Kyle last year.

Always viewed as a dangerous striker, “Feijao” backed up the description, catching Lawal with power early in the third round. He credited the loss to Kyle with helping him refocuses and take his preparation more seriously, and it showed, as he handed the previously unbeaten champion the first loss of his career.

Increased Possibilities
The changing of the guard at the top of the 205-pound division will actually allow Strikeforce greater movement in matchmaking. Unlike Lawal who had expressed no interest in fighting friend and occasional training partner Renato “Babalu” Sobral, “Feijao” has no such allegiances.

As much as Mike Kyle wouldn’t be a title contender anywhere else, he holds a win over the new champ and a rematch is an easy pairing. Others like Dan Henderson and Gegard Mousasi could be considered as well.
Lawal is still a charismatic option on any future event, and being bumped back in the pecking order makes it easier to utilize him against the middle tier talent the division holds. While no one will probably officially agree, this result works out well for the San Jose-based outfit.

Antonio Cromartie lists all of his kids’ names [video]

Cromartie blamed “Hard Knocks” for making him look bad by telling him to pause when he listed all of his kids on the popular HBO series. For their part, “Hard Knocks” denies this. Anyway, here’s the segment in all of it’s glory.

According to his Wiki page

Cromartie has fathered eight children with six women living in five states, and has been named in at least five paternity suits in the past two years.

For what it’s worth, Cromartie is apparently married now.

Living Lighter: Five things Tom Brady should do instead of watching “Hard Knocks”

This series is supported by LACOSTE Essential Sport.

Tom Brady recently said he hates the Jets so he’s not going to support them by watching “Hard Knocks.” Good for him.

Free of charge, here are five suggestions of things he could do instead:

5. Go antiquing…with his wife, Gisele Bundchen.
What’s antiquing, you ask? Well, it’s the act of shopping for antiques. (Don’t laugh.) The thought of it would make most men want to run their heads straight into a steel pole, but if you could afford to buy anything you want and follow this around all day, you’d make an exception too.

4. Take a cooking class…with Gisele.
My mother used to say that nothing tastes better than a home cooked meal. So why not take a cooking class with Gisele? Think of all the fun nights they’d have in the kitchen making dinner – clothing optional. Who knows, maybe this scene will ensue.

3. Wash his car…with Gisele.
He wouldn’t be a red blooded American male if he wasn’t out in the driveway doing something on the weekends. So why not wash that new Mercedes, and ask Gisele to pitch in? And maybe she wears nothing but a white T-shirt and some jean shorts? And gets a little wet? We’re just spitballin’ here, right?

2. Go horseback riding…with Gisele.
Rent a couple of stallions, hit the trail with the wife and see what happens. Breathe in the fresh air and soak up the sun. Maybe after a little truth or dare, she’ll agree to ride bareback.

1. Go lingerie shopping…with Gisele.
How great would it be to go to Victoria’s Secret with a Victoria’s Secret model? Only a handful of guys have that opportunity and Tom Brady is one of them. He should take advantage, and spend the afternoon in the dressing rooms letting Gisele model all that Victoria’s Secret has to offer.

The truth is, everything’s better with Gisele.

Tiger Woods, wife Elin Nordegren officially divorce

Tiger Woods and his wife Elin Nordegren watch Game 4 of the NBA Finals basketball game in Orlando, in Florida in this June 11, 2009 file photo. The world's No. 1 golfer Woods and his Swedish wife Nordegren have divorced following the sex scandal that embroiled Woods late last year, a statement from their lawyers said on August 23, 2010. The inevitable has come to fruition: Tiger Woods and his wife Elin have legally parted ways.

From ESPN.com:

The divorce was granted in Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla., about 375 miles away from their Isleworth home outside Orlando. The couple married in October 2004 in Barbados and have a 3-year-old daughter, Sam, and a 19-month-old son, Charlie.

The marriage was described in court documents as “irretrievably broken” with no point in trying to reconcile. Terms of the divorce were not disclosed, except that they will “share parenting” of their two children.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, declined comment when asked if the couple had a prenuptial agreement or terms of the settlement. “We’re not commenting beyond what was in the release,” he said.

The sordid sex scandal cost Woods three major corporate sponsors — Accenture, AT&T and Gatorade — worth millions of dollars, and he lost his image as the gold standard in sports endorsements. A month after the scandal became public, Woods spent two months in therapy at a Mississippi clinic with hopes of saving his marriage.

The terms of the divorce may not have been disclosed, but there’s no doubt that Elin got p.a.i.d. And why shouldn’t she have been? She underwent major public embarrassment over the last 10 months and had to endure all the nasty details of how her husband banged anything with two legs and a pulse over the last X amount of years. I think that’s deserving of a little coin.

While this may be a relief for Tiger now that the divorce has been finalized, his wallet won’t be the only thing affected by this scandal. One day, when his kids are older, they’re going to ask him why he and Elin aren’t together anymore. And unless the internet gets swallowed up by a black hole sometime in the near future, he’s going to have to disclose a lot about his past.

He has only begun to take a beating for his actions.
