Todd McShay discusses Mel Kiper

Here’s a fantastic clip from Todd McShay’s new podcast and YouTube channel where Todd McShay discusses Mel Kiper. McShay is very fond of Kiper, and the two of them established a very close bond over the years. They also drove each other a little crazy, and that led to some great televsion at times.

McShay explains the craziness and quirkiness of Kiper’s personality, and how Todd leaned into it both on air and off. He also explained how McShay is a great person and incredibly kind to everyone. It’s quite a tribute.

And finally he explains why Kiper has not been on the new podcast, and he explained that ESPN basically won’t allow it. He even got into how Kiper is now paired with Field Yates, and how Yates has been thrown into the draft prep world from the fantasy football world. Yates is good, but they can’t recreate what they had with Todd and Mel. McShay isn’t afraid here to say what he thinks.

Miami trips up against SMU

So Josh Pate will get roasted for this. Several weeks ago on hos podcast, he chirped about how Miami was “different” this year, even looking more impressive than Ohio State.

Well with Miami losing to SMU for their second loss of the season, Pate looks foolish as the Canes are now on the bubble for even making the playoff.

Miami hadn’t played a game outside the state of Florida, and they wilted with this road test at SMU. Many like Kirk Herbstreit called this game out as an upset special, and Miami obliged.

Miami has looked very impressive at times this season, but we’ve seen Mario Cristobal teams wilt before, and Mario if often part of the problem. Talent only gets you so far. Also, Carson Beck started throwing interceptions, and that hurt them again today.

Craig Ehlo discusses “The Shot” and “The Last Dance”

Craig Ehlo discusses “The Shot” and “The Last Dance” in an interview with Chris Fedor in The Wine and Gold Talk podcast. It’s an amazing story, as Michael Jordan explained in “The Last Dance” that he felt that Lenny Wilkins made a mistake putting Ehlo on him over Ron Harper. Harper claimed that he asked Wilkins to guard Jordan but claimed that Wilkins said no.

Ehlo took no offense by anything in the documentary but didn’t remember Harper saying anything like that, though Ehlo concedes that Harper may have said something directly to Jordan.

It’s a great interview, as Ehlo is a class act, and he tells some great Jordan stories that show a good side of Jordan.
