Fitch feels he won UFC 127 over Penn
According to HeavyMMA.com, Jon Fitch believes he defeated B.J. Penn at UFC 127 but after further thought, Penn changed his mind about the outcome.
Jon Fitch has finally seen the fight with B.J. Penn and feels he definitely won.
The judges rendered a majority draw decision following UFC 127’s main event between Jon Fitch and B.J. Penn, a score neither agree with.
“Finally watched the fight back myself. first rnd draw and I won rnd 2 and 3. I will prove myself if I must. But I know I won that fight,” Fitch posted on his official Twitter account on Monday. “Much respect to BJ. He is the legend I thought he was. I think that was the best BJ ANY of us have ever seen.”
Following the fight, Penn told the crowd in Sydney, Australia and millions watching at home that he thought Fitch won the fight.
Moments later, backstage at the Acer Arena, Penn wasn’t so sure.“The more I’m sitting here thinking about it, I definitely got the better positions and the more dominant positions,” said Penn to UFC.com. “I guess the first thing I was thinking was just the last round, but now, the more I’m sitting here thinking about the first two rounds – I did. I had much better positions than he had.

BJ Penn is one of those guys I can easily hope hangs it up soon, me knowing that he and his family are well off.
He should become a coach, mentor, PHD of MMA, anything but fight anymore.
I have the utmost respect for his skills and his passion, but the dude is getting old.
If that fight went 30 more seconds, BJ would have been decisively defeated.
As it is, Jon Fitch is kind of the new Matt Lindland of MMA . . . a good fighter, but super boring to watch.
My idea: BJ Penn and Mike Tyson vs. Randy Couture and Evander Holyfield as coaches of TUF!
jon fitch lost 1rnd for sure 2nd round could have went either way but yes he sat on top of bj for the whole 3 rd i agree with the decision REMATCH is what we need to settle this. fitch feels he would take out gsp well after watching the fight with bj all i have to say YA OK mabye if gsp fought on his knees
BJ is getting old??? Fitch is one year older, and both are under 34.
1st round was a draw? No hardly. Penn won rd 1. And you won round 2 and 3?? Um, you were right on one of those. Round 2 was probably a draw and you won round 3, so yeah, the fight overall was a draw. And super boring to watch.
So, Jon Fitch thinks he beat BJ Penn, eh? Well, if he would have won the first two rounds, sure, but he didn’t. His only shot was taking Penn down, hug tight and do a little GnP, which he did, but he started in the last round. Penn, meanwhile did not hold off, sparing his energy until the last round, so he could finish strong. Sure Fitch did win that last round, but Penn was all over him the first two rounds, trying unsuccessfully to submit him. That’s what drained Penn. Sure Penn felt bad, because he was getting it handed to him during that last round, but the judges didn’t go by the last round alone; no, they judged from all three rounds and based their decisions on that. So, Fitch, if you really feel you could beat Penn, next time do so. Don’t wait until the last round to do so. Penn is a lightweight, walking around at 165, yet you still couldn’t put him away, so is that supposed to be impressive on your end? I don’t think so.
