Leo Sterger adds to the circus that is the Brett Favre scandal

Jenn Sterger’s father Leo better not meet Brett Favre down a dark alley or else they’ll be hell to pay.

His words – not mine.

From the New York Daily News:

Leo Sterger, whose daughter allegedly received unwelcome genitalia photos from Favre, says he is “absolutely furious” that the NFL let the Vikings quarterback off with a $50,000 fine Wednesday after Favre did not fully cooperate with the league’s two-month investigation into the matter.

“I better not meet that guy down a dark alley,” the elder Sterger told Radar Online Thursday. “Their decision is a complete travesty to women, and they are just treating him this way because he is the NFL’s golden boy.”

This entire situation has become a joke for all parties involved. First and foremost, Favre is a creep for sending Sterger pictures of his frank and beans (or was it just of his frank?) when he’s a married man. After she stopped his advances the first time, he should have called it a day and moved on. Why he thought sending her a text of his junk would make her swoon is beyond me.

Sterger needs a reality check, too. What was her end game here? She said the reason she kept the photos and messages was so that she could laugh at them later with her friends. Clearly she never felt in danger so she can’t get away with playing the victim. If she felt harassed, she should have said something right away. Or if she was too embarrassed and that’s why she waited, then her lawyer should have told her to file a sexual harassment suit on Favre instead of demanding that the NFL take care of the situation.

The NFL’s policy has always been to let the legal process carry out first. But since Sterger and her lawyer decided to force the league to play judge, jury and executioner, then they’ll have to settle with Favre’s punishment. Was it a slap on the wrist? Yeah. The guy made $16.5 million this year and was fined one percent of that. He’ll make that money back when he scratches his ass on the sideline this Sunday in Detroit. But if Sterger’s camp wanted stiffer (no pun intended) punishment, then it should have filed a harassment suit and went from there. Unless of course, they knew her story wouldn’t stand up in court and so they decided to force the NFL’s hand.

Either way, this situation has turned into a circus. The NFL’s decision is a travesty to women? Get real. If you want a true victim in this situation, look no farther than Deanna Favre. Think about the embarrassment she’s suffered in all of this.

Favre to be disciplined in Sterger case?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, a decision on the Jenn Sterger case involving Brett Favre is expected to come in the next 48 hours. And per the report, Favre will be disciplined.

The league has been investigating allegations that Favre sent inappropriate photos and phone messages to Sterger in 2008, when he was the quarterback for the New York Jets and she was a game hostess for the team.

Sterger’s manager, Phil Reese, has said his client would like the league to “implement a program” to prevent unwanted advances similar to those she is alleging Favre made.

Reese said Sterger wants the league to discipline Favre before his career ends. “It’s not a money story,” Reese said, adding his client’s goal is some acknowledgment that Favre was in the wrong.

Unless they fine him an inordinate amount of money, this won’t be a very big win for Sterger. The Vikings were knocked out of the playoffs weeks ago and he’s not expected to play in their season finale this Sunday. So what’s the worst that can happen to him? He gets suspended for a game he wasn’t going to suit up for anyway?

That said, there will be some embarrassment that comes along with any punishment that Favre receives. This could very well be his last season in the NFL and he’s going to go out severing a fine for sending inappropriate text messages to a sideline reporter. Talk about your anti-victory lap.

Of course, as always with Favre, there’s never a guarantee that he’ll walk away.

Update: Favre has been fined $50,000 for his lack of cooperation during the NFL’s investigation into his relationship with Sterger. Seeing as how he made $16 million this season, I don’t he’ll lose sleep over the one percent he lost with his fee. He won’t be suspended, as the league decided that he didn’t violate any rules.

Sterger won’t sue Favre if NFL punishes him, implements prevention program

Is Jenn Sterger f&#king serious? At first, this Brett Favre scandal was rather humorous to me and honestly, I couldn’t care less what the outcome wound up being. Favre deserved to suffer some public embarrassment, but after reading this L.A. Times report, I’m in favor of her receiving a reality check, too.

Sterger’s manager said Thursday that if the NFL punishes Favre, she won’t sue him for sending her photos of his junk via text message, as well as being an overall creep-ball. Her manager, Phil Reese, also said that she wants the league to take action before he retires and would like the NFL to implement a program to prevent unwanted advances.

The problem there Jenn, is that the season ends in four weeks and chances are Favre is retiring for good. So what’s the point in punishing him now? If she truly wants him to suffer, then she should want him to keep playing. The guy can’t pour milk into his Fruit Loops without tearing something and with every interception he throws, his legacy further gets diminished.

Furthermore, her desire to have the NFL implement a “program” is a joke. If she were truly a victim, then the league should absolutely step in to ensure its players are educated on how stalking members of the media is wrong. But this chick has already admitted to laughing at the photos and poking fun at Favre with her friends and ow she wants the NFL to implement a program to ensure this doesn’t happen again? Child, please.

She’s trying to play the role of victim here but nobody should buy it. If she felt like she was sexually harassed, she should have reported him immediately. Don’t keep the photos and messages, wait three years, tell the editor of Deadspin the entire story and then want the NFL to rush to your aid. Give me a break.

This broad and Favre couldn’t disappear fast enough.

Sterger may go public with photos of Favre’s junk

Straight out of the “Does anyone really care anymore?” files, the Huffington Post is reporting that Jenn Sterger might reveal the photos that Brett Favre sent her of his junk if the NFL does not punish the Vikings’ quarterback.

TMZ reported on Monday that Sterger’s manager, Phil Reese, said his client provided enough evidence to prove there was harassment.

“No matter what happens Jenn has all legal remedies, including going public … if the NFL doesn’t clear her name,” Reese reportedly said.

The NFL started its investigation of the alleged sexting scandal in October. Favre admitted to sending voicemails to the former TV host, but denied sending inappropriate photos.

Allison Torres, a friend of Sterger, reportedly said she was there when Sterger received the pictures.

Couple of things here:

1. Nobody wants to see Favre’s wrinkled junk mail.

2. Didn’t Deadspin already show the photos? Unless she has photos of him smiling and giving the camera a thumbs-up while holding his crotchel region, then what more is there to show?

And whom does she think she is trying to press the NFL into a corner? They’re not going to bow to her whims and do whatever she asks. They’re the NFL for cryin’ out loud.

She’s got four weeks to try and further her career with this story before Favre retires and then nobody officially cares anymore.

Sterger’s Friend: Favre is a “dopey, dopey character.”

The hits keep coming for Brett Favre, both on and off the field.

While speaking to the New York Post recently, Jenn Sterger’s friend Allison Torres claims that Sterger and Favre traded text messages “regularly” while they were both in New York. Torres also confirmed what everyone already knows: that the naked text messages were in fact of Lord Favre’s junk.

“At the time, his family was living somewhere in Morristown, NJ, but he would stay at a hotel near Giants Stadium,” Torres said.

“I did think that was kind of weird. He would say to her, ‘Come over.’ She would keep saying to me, ‘I don’t know what to do.’ ”

But Torres said Sterger wouldn’t tell her whether or not the two actually met for a tryst.

“I just know they kept texting each other back and forth and that he wanted to hook up,” Torres said. “I wouldn’t doubt she was enjoying the attention from him.”

Favre was not the first star athlete to allegedly send naked pictures to Sterger, Torres said.

“She could make millions if she ever cashed in on all the naked photos she gets from friends,” Torres said.

Torres described Favre as a “dopey, dopey character.”

Here’s a wild thought: What if Sterger asked Brett to send photos of his manhood? If what Torres says is true and Favre isn’t the only celebrity to send Sterger junk mail, then maybe she asks the guys to do it for whatever reason (whether it be to exhibit some kind of control over them or just to laugh at them with her friends).

Either way, it still doesn’t appear that Favre did anything legally wrong here. If Sterger was sending text messages back to Brett and laughing about his advances with her friends, there’s an obvious case to be made that she wasn’t sexually harassed – nor did she ever feel that way. He may be a douche for cheating (or trying to cheat) on his wife, but that doesn’t mean he should face punishment from the league.

Of course, if you look at the photo of Torres in the NYP, she looks like someone that wouldn’t mind getting a little attention of her own. It might be best to take what she’s saying with a grain of salt.
