Dortmund, Liverpool lead 25/1 in the Europe League

This week we are witnessing some great games thanks to Dortmund, Liverpool in the Europe League. We will be able to enjoy the game Liverpool v United and Dortmund v Spurs among the action, thanks to the return of the Europe League on TV on on Thursday night and two of England’s most teams will battle and try to do their very best in Europe’s second major club competition.

In previous years, the Europe League has had its fair share of criticism but the added incentive of guaranteed Champions League football for the winner has helped to transform the tournament from a not so much followed competition into an opportunity for betting odds.

Peyton Manning officially retires

Not surprisingly, Peyton Manning retired today with a classy speech.

Peyton has always been a class act, and of course is among the best quarterbacks ever to play the game. Fans and loudmouth pundits can debate where he should be on the all-time list of best quarterbacks, but at least he’s in the argument.

He rides out with a Super Bowl victory. It wasn’t his best game, but many wrote him off this season and he ends up winning the Super Bowl in one of the most improbable comebacks in history.

Do Athletes Perform Better Based On Their Uniform

When your non-athletically inclined friends and family come over for the big game, they’ll either cheer for your team or just choose the side with the prettiest uniforms. As it turns out, that’s actually not a bad strategy. Recent scientific research suggests colors like red, orange and blue are closely linked to success and multiple tournament championships. Psychology tells us that colors can significantly affect our moods and behavior, and given the mental component of excellent athletic performance, it makes sense the color of a uniform might affect an athlete’s performance on the field.

Powerful take by Jay Williams on marijuana and pain

The NFL, NBA and MLB need to get rid of their idiotic bans on marijuana for their players.

Check out this video and article from Jay Williams who describes how he became addicted to prescription drugs after his motorcycle accident.

Marijuana is a much better option for pain management because it’s much less addictive (if at all) than prescription drugs.

I’d love to see the NBA start by lifting their ban.
