      UFC 127 News: Bisping angered by Rivera’s antics

      According to HeavyMMA.com, Michael Bisping is not happy with Jorge Rivera’s antics leading up to their UFC 127 showdown and plans to do his talking inside the Octagon.

      Michael Bisping is not a happy camper.

      The smack talk and videos Jorge Rivera has produced leading up to their UFC 127 showdown has angered the British middleweight.

      Bisping had been uncharacteristically quiet leading up to this weekend’s event, but that all changed during the UFC 127 pre-fight press conference on Tuesday.

      “For me, I’ve got a big fight to prepare for. I’m fighting in the premier fighting organization in the world, and I’m trying to act accordingly,” said Bisping. “I’m a professional fighter. I’m not an idiot in the schoolyard making up silly rhymes and jokes and making stupid videos.”

      HeavyMMA Rankings: Bantamweight to Heavyweight

      HeavyMMA.com released their latest MMA rankings for the month of February. This time around, they’ve ranked fighters from bantamweight all the way up to heavyweight.

      HEAVYWEIGHT

      1. Cain Velasquez
      Velasquez will be on the mend for the foreseeable future after undergoing a medical prodecure, but he has returned to light cardio work at American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose. Of course, “light cardio” for Cain Velasquez is about 10 times longer than we’ve ever run in our entire life.

      2. Brock Lesnar
      You’d never know it to be true, but Lesnar is still in Vegas and is said to be enjoying his time coaching The Ultimate Fighter a great deal. Once he finishes the coaching gig, he’ll return to Minnesota and begin preparations for Junior dos Santos.

      3. Fabricio Werdum
      Werdum meets Alistair Overeem in the final leg of the Strikeforce heavyweight grand prix. We don’t know when and we don’t know where, but we’re pretty sure the fight is happening. And with Fedor’s loss, Werdum’s road to the grand prix title suddenly got a lot easier.

      Jon Fitch: B.J. Penn is dangerous in any weight class

      UFC welterweight contender Jon Fitch tells HeavyMMA.com that B.J. Penn is dangerous in any weight class.

      Jon Fitch is taking his UFC 127 main event match up with B.J. Penn very seriously.

      Fitch will enjoy a reach and size advantage over the former UFC lightweight and welterweight titleholder. But will that be enough for the American Kickboxing Academy trained fighter?

      “B.J. is dangerous in any weight class. He brings a certain type of skill set that if you make a mistake he’s able to capitalize on it and put you away, and that transfers into any weight class,” said Fitch.

      “As a welterweight going into this fight I have certain advantages with size, but it’s not going to be enough. I’ve had to work a lot on speed and explosiveness and keeping everything tight to make sure there are no mistakes in this fight.”

      MMA February Rankings: Featherweight

      Jose Aldo remains atop HeavyMMA.com’s Featherweight rankings for the month of February.

      The featherweight division remains somewhat stagnant for February. Chad Mendes had a chance to cement himself as the #2 featherweight in the world, but turned in a lackluster performance against Michihiro Omigawa. Jose Aldo and Mark Hominick don’t face off until April, and few of the top ten guys even have fights booked at this point.

      Notes: Our rankings are subjective and are weighted heavily in favor of recent performance instead of a career body of work.

      1. Jose Aldo
      Aldo makes his long-awaited UFC debut (as champion, no less) when he takes on Mark Hominick at UFC 129 in Toronto. There will be 55,000 people in the stadium when Aldo takes to the cage; that’s pretty good exposure for a guy you’re wanting to push as one of the best fighters in the world. Everybody wants to talk about Hominick’s striking and how good it is, but Aldo should dispatch him with ease. Aldo’s biggest fight this year could come in the form of Kenny Florian, who dropped to featherweight and hopes to win one big fight and then get his title shot.

      Heavy MMA Rankings: Heavyweight

      HeavyMMA.com hands out their MMA Heavyweight rankings for February and Antonio Silva is the biggest mover of the month.

      February’s biggest mover in the heavyweight division is Antonio Silva, who jumps up several spots based on the strength of his stunning win over Fedor Emelianenko. It’s true that Emelianenko is not what he once was, but that doesn’t make Silva’s win any less impressive. In 2005, he was heralded as the guy who had the tools and the size to defeat Emelianenko. In 2011, he finally made it happen, and his star is on the rise while Emelianenko’s is dangerously close to fading away for good.

      Let’s take a look at February’s rankings for the heavyweight division.
