Couch Potato Alert (9/22)

After last weekend’s huge college football lineup, where there were seven intra-Top 25 matchups, this week is a bit of a letdown. Still, there are some good games on tap, including the PSU/OSU tilt and the Bullz-Eye College Football Game of the Week featuring Notre Dame battling Michigan St. On Sunday, there are several good NFL early in the day, with the Bengals/Steelers, Jags/Colts and the Bears/Vikings squaring off at 1 PM. It should be a great scene in New Orleans, as the Saints return to the Superdome Monday night for the first time since Hurricane Katrina. They face the Falcons, and the winner will be in first place in the NFC South.

Catching up with Caliendo

Okay, so last week I laid a verbal assault on FOX’s Frank Caliendo for going 1-3 on his NFL predictions.

But I’m a fair guy and since I barraged him last week, it’s only right to give him credit for a job well done last Sunday.

Here are Caliendo’s picks from Week 2:

– Ravens over Raiders
– Broncos over Chiefs
– Vikings over Panthers
– Buccaneers over Falcons in his upset special

So, Calinedo turns things around by going 3-1 this week, but lets be honest – his only decent pick was Minnesota over Carolina.

He went against a team that didn’t score a point in week one (Oakland) to another who was playing Damon Huard at quarterback (Kansas City). His upset special fell flat and now that’s back-to-back weeks he’s picked against Atlanta.

I’ve got a feeling that I’m going to ride this disaster all year long…

Caliendo’s record after two weeks: 4-4, 1-1 on his “upset special”

Couch Potato Alert (9/18)

Couch Potato Alert (9/15)

Saturday is a college football fan’s wet dream, with seven – SEVEN! – Top 25 matchups throughout the day, highlighted by the Michigan/Notre Dame game and the LSU/Auburn tilt (which is the Bullz-Eye Game of the Week). The schedulers could have done a better job of spreading them out, however, as four of the seven games start at 3:30 PM ET, making it a good day to head down to the sports bar to catch them all on satellite.
