NY fans elated over Ferguson?

The Jets nab the Brick, D’Brickashaw Ferguson and the Jets fans seem pretty pumped, which surprises me, although Ferguson is from Long Island. Well, now that New York isn’t on fire with riots, yesterdays rumors and Leinart falling is slowly turning into a reality. It’s amazing how much things change from season to season. Leinart, a guy who was supposed to be the number one selection before he returned to U.S.C for his senior year, now may fall out of the Top 10.

Green Bay is now on the clock and I think this is a no brainier for them: OSU, LB AJ Hawk.

No Smoke Screen for Titans

The Leinart vs. Young debate is finally over as the Titans selected Vince Young. There seemed to be an internal struggle between the Titans management, scouts and coaches on this pick. Some liked Leinart, some liked Young. Apparently, the Titans thought that Young was going to be the better future quarterback.

Next up is a nightmare situation for the Jets. Fan favorite Leinart is still on the board, but the Jets brass is all over D’Brickashaw Ferguson. Jet fans are in position to do their annual jump.

Bush Selected

Reggie Bush didn’t have to wait long to be selected as he can now call New Orleans home now. This pick is interesting to me considering that Duece McAllister is still in his prime. Injury concerns have hampered McAllister and its always good to have an insurance policy on the backburner, but the Saints were quick on this pick.

The Titans are on the clock and we all get to see if the Vince Young talk was a smoke screen to select Leinart.

Action Kicked Off

Well, Mario Williams goes to Houston and NY fans, always classy shout: “Overrated!” The greatest day in this kid’s life and he gets covered in overrated chants, nice.

Now the action can start with New Orleans on the clock. Do they trade out? Do you take Bush?

Texas sized Blunder?

Len Pasquarelli has just become the official voice of many Houston Texan fans. The ESPN.com columnist voiced his opinion over the Texans decision to go with Mario Williams over Reggie Bush. And he didn’t hold much back.

Ladies and gentlemen, your Houston Texans, an outfit that might do better were Mr. Magoo executing its lottery selections. Hand out the darts, folks, and take cover. Even quarterback David Carr, throwing from his back, which is where he has been for most of his four seasons in Houston, has better aim than his bosses.

In other words, Pasquarelli’s not a fan of the move.

Some teams try to exercise foresight with such threshold football decisions. Houston, on the other hand, apparently makes them blindfolded.

It appears that neither money nor his recent off the field headlines are the prime reason Bush isn’t on his way to the Lone Star State. Apparently, this was a football only decision.

According to Pasquarelli, the Texans just plain stopped negotiating with Bush after 2:00pm Thursday, which is interesting considering that several media outlets were reporting that the talks were still going on today.
