      The Scores Report interviews Chicago Bears All-Pro Charles Tillman on breast cancer, Deion Sanders and Halloween

      Charles Tillman is so good, you take him for granted. Even during an 11-year career as a member of some of the fiercest defenses in NFL history, his consistent production and greatness are rarely recognized outside of Chicago.

      “Peanut” owns the Bears’ career records for defensive touchdowns (9), interceptions returned for touchdowns (8) and forced fumbles (39). Thanks to his signature move the “Peanut Punch,” his 10 forced fumbles last year set an NFL single-season record, and the four fumbles he forced in a game against the Titans a year ago is the all-time single game record. His 36 career interceptions are just two away from tying Gary Fencik for the Bears’ franchise record.

      With two Pro Bowl selections and an appearance in Super Bowl XLI, Tillman’s overall body of work solidifies him as the best cornerback in the history of the Chicago Bears and potentially as the most disruptive defensive back of all-time.

      You’re working with Proctor & Gamble on a campaign for breast cancer awareness. Tell me about that.

      I partnered with P&G to encourage women to have an early detection plan with breast cancer. And, for the men in their lives, to motivate the women in their lives to create a plan. Everyone talks about how October is breast cancer awareness month. We have pink gloves, pink shoes, pink wrist bands, but it doesn’t just end there. If breast cancer is detected early enough, there’s a 98% survival rate. I’m not a math guy, but I will take those odds.

      You’re the most physical corner in the NFL, which for some reason is very rare in the game; to have a real physical corner that can stop the run and jam receivers at the line. Why is that? Why are so many corners soft, and can we blame Deion Sanders for that?

      No, I don’t think you can blame Deion for that. I think it’s just what is required of our defense. And it’s not just me; my other Pro Bowl corner Tim Jennings… he and I are in the same boat. I think there are a lot of physical corners, not just to name myself and Tim. But I think what makes ours more evident is the type of defense that we play. It’s required that our corners make tackles and make plays.

      Denver Broncos All-Pro Wes Welker talks Old Spice, Stingers and NOT Peyton Manning or Tom Brady

      Wes Welker is a player that any fan can relate to, which is what makes him such a great pitch-man for Old Spice and the new “Unnecessary Freshness” campaign. But when you look at Welker’s career and laundry list of  accomplishments, it becomes apparent that you are looking at the body of work befitting a future NFL Hall of Famer.

      I spoke to Wes about his career and his experience working with Old Spice.

      Tell me about Old Spice. What’s up with the “Unnecessary Freshness” campaign?

      It’s been a really cool deal. I think you’ve seen a lot of their commercials in the past and the way they are, so I was really excited to get to do all the commercials and all that stuff. We’re basically celebrating the new season and the brand’s Fresh Collection lineup and reminding fans to of the importance of “unnecessary freshness.” They can check everything out on YouTube and see all the videos and the crazy stuff like me being in a snow globe, my legs being eaten by lizards. Or some of the print stuff, where there’s a shark eating my legs. Its kinda funny when I’m shooting this because the director is like, “OK, so imagine there is a shark eating your legs right there.” I’m like, “Really — there’s gonna be a shark eating my legs?” They do a great job with it, it’s been really cool.

      As a wide receiver who takes  a lot of hits, what does a “stinger” actually feel like?

      You just feel like a numbness run through your body.

      Oh, so it’s like a divorce?

      Exactly (laughing). I guess so. I’ve been lucky enough to not experience that, hopefully I’m not on that end. I’d say that’s a good way to describe it (laughing). But no, I’d say it’s a numbness a lot of times in your shoulder or neck running through there, and you feel almost like a vibrating sensation through your arm.

      Scores Report Sits Down With Falcons Tight End Tony Gonzalez

      I remember when Tony Gonzalez had a down year in 2010, his second year with the Atlanta Falcons. A “down” year for Tony G consisted of 70 receptions for 656 yards and 6 TUDS.

      The whispers began to circulate about his days as a premier tight end being over and speculation was rampant that his career was nearing it’s end.

      In the ensuing two years, Gonzalez accumulated 173 recs for 1,805 yards and 15 TD for an average yearly stat-line of 87 rec for 903 yards and roughly 8 TUDs.

      The longtime Kansas City Chief enters his 17th NFL season this year; does that make you feel as old as it does me?

      Scores Report Interviews Wisconsin Badger Point Guard Traevon Jackson

      Even though he just recently finished his sophomore season at the University of Wisconsin, Traevon Jackson comes across just like his game- confident, smooth and mature.

      For being just 20 years old, he’s so calm and composed, you can’t help but think about where you were in life at 20….and then sheepishly quit punishing yourself.

      Some of that confidence undoubtedly comes from his famous genetics and being the son of NBA star player Jim Jackson, but the greater part of it comes from his faith and approach to life, off the court.

      What was your experience like playing in the NCAA Tournament?
      “Obviously, it didn’t end the way we wanted it to.  Just the fact of me playing in the tournament was great because it’s the attitude of “loser goes home” and unfortunately we had to go home. But it really puts into perspective what you need to do to prepare for it going forward. And learning from that this year helps us next year.”

      Is there added pressure based on who your dad is to succeed? What’s the dynamic of that like?
      “Growing up, I felt it more than I do now, but now I don’t even think about it at all, actually. The pressure that I feel now the most is pleasing the Lord. That may sound cliché, but that’s an everyday type of task and the biggest thing for me. As long as I continue to grow in that aspect, there is no other question.”

      Who would win a game of one on one right now?
      “Oh, me of course (laughing). Easily. He can beat me in golf and all the other, cards, all that stuff, but he’s not beating me on the court.”
