Bush and USC being investigated

The University of Southern California may be facing a larger challenge than losing Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and LenDale White. The Trojans and the Pac 10 conference are investigating the location of Reggie Bush’s family for the past couple years.

The Bush family was living in a house that was valued at well over a half million dollars and possibly owned by an individual linked to the university. It will be interesting to see how the NCAA handles this situation, considering you are looking at a team and player that spent the last three years in Championship games. This would be another situation where a university and current players may suffer for a past players actions.

LeBron James deserves MVP

LeBron James basically sat out the last two games of the season and still made a solid case to win MVP. James has been the best all around player this year and led his team to the playoffs for the first time since the 1997-98 season. The statistics LeBron has posted are almost mind boggling for a 21 year old.

After reviewing the candidates, James should have the MVP locked up. The apprehension writers had because he’s only 21 years old were answered when LeBron ended the season strong and carried Cleveland to the playoffs. Kobe Bryant, the only other possible candidate, is really more of a scorer. The Lakers are barely making the playoffs and Kobe is playing more one dimensional this year than anytime in his career. Kobe can have the scoring title, while LeBron receives the MVP award.

Bonds needs to sit already

Barry Bonds should be suspended from baseball until every allegation and charge against him is cleared up. I pick up the paper everyday and see a new story about Bonds and his “possible” wrongdoings. There is no way Barry can be innocent of every charge that is out there. I find it hard to believe that all of the accusers have a personal agenda against Bonds and they are just “picking on him”. I truly believe baseball is making a bad name for itself by allowing Bonds to chase and set new records with the all of the “possible” charges.
This is a great opportunity for the owners and league to take a stand against a very strong and selfish union in baseball and force Bonds to sit. As a fan, I really don’t want young kids to believe that the way to make the paper is by doing the “wrong thing”.

Favre being selfish

I believe that Brett Favre will go down as one of the best quarterbacks every to play professional football. I also believe that if he continues this “indecision” it will tarnish his reputation for being one of the most unselfish players ever to take the field. I understand that it’s a tough decision for Favre, but he’s putting his teammates and the Packers organization in a very uncomfortable position.

Green Bay is making roster decisions without knowing what type of experience they will have behind center. This is very tough on an organization. GM’s will tell you that they already know their offensive strategies for next season by spring.
I think Favre is putting his personal happiness and satisfaction above the team for the first time in his career and if he doesn’t decide soon it will become embarrassing for him and the Packers.

Personally, I believe Brett has one good season left in him and then he should retire. That being said, the Packers aren’t a very strong offensive unit and he could be a punching bag for the second straight season.

If Favre doesn’t decide this week, I will lose some of the respect and admiration that I have for him as a player after watching him for all these years.

Bonds has no shame

Barry Bonds is really starting to embarrass baseball and his image. He recently broke down in tears when discussing his current situation. Give me a break. He is the most arrogant, selfish and defiant person to play the game today. The only reason Bonds could be crying is to try and pull at the public’s heart. This is a complete joke. Barry Bonds is guilty until to proven innocent.

The fact that baseball waited this long to investigate him is the only reason any true fan should be crying. I just hope this case doesn’t lose steam. He would do baseball a great favor by just claiming an injury and retiring.

Pete Rose, where are you when we need you? I’m not sure what type of cheating is worse, betting or filling your body with an illegal substance. I would vote Pete Rose into the Hall of Fame in a minute over Bonds. The sad truth is that Barry Bonds was a very talented player that wasn’t satisfied with his given ability and decided to use illegal means to improve it. This new show (Bonds on Bonds) should be on Comedy Central and not ESPN.
