Bengals are laughingstock of the NFL
It was a wild finish last night in Cincinnati, and some of the game actually included great football plays. But the Bengals suffered an epic meltdown with the antics of Vontaze Burfict and Adam “Pacman” Jones at the end of the game.
This was after Jeremy Hill fumbled the football after an impressive strip by Ryan Shazier late in the game after it appeared the Bengals had sealed an improbable comeback off a Burfict interception of Big Ben. Hill should have been the primary goat in this game, but then idiocy took over.
Burfict didn’t get draft several years ago for a variety of reasons. He had first-round talent, but he had a lame performance at the NFL combine, and he also had a reputation as a knucklehead. Well stuff like that doesn’t stop the Bengals – they consistently take on guys with these types of problems if they have talent. And while this strategy has helped the overall team talent, but it bit them in the ass last night as Burfict leveled Antonio Brown with a needless hit as the Bengals were trying to stop a game-winning drive.
Then, assistant coach Joey Porter comes onto the field, taunts some Bengals, and then of course Pacman retaliates and gets another flag. In this case the refs probably should have given offsetting penalties, but the lack of composure by the Bengals led to 30 free yards for the Steelers, and another playoff loss.
Wow!
