An emotional Vernon Davis was selected by the 49ers at No.6. Davis has wide receiver speed; he out benched D’Brickashaw Ferguson and his vertical leap was rivaled by no other prospect at the NFL combine. Davis steps right in among the new breed of tight ends with the likes of Antonio Gates and Tony Gonzalez. Let’s just hope for Davis that the 49ers know how to use him, because this guy has the potential to be great.
