Got a close game this week, against my primary competition for the playoffs. Need all the help I can get.
QB Brett Favre
WR Vincent Jackson
WR Randy Moss
RB DeAngelo Williams
RB Joseph Addai
TE Heath Miller
W/R Sidney Rice
DEF New Orleans
Bench:
QB Donovan McNabb
WR Robert Meachem
WR Miles Austin
RB Tim Hightower
TE Greg Olsen
DEF Dallas
Who do you think is a sure start? And who’s is a gamble that could potentially pay off?
10 team ppr league. lineup includes Romo, Flacco, E. Manning, Forte, T. Jones, Justin Forsett, Jennings, Houshmandzadeh, Mason, S. Smith(NYG), Maclin, Dallas and New England DST’s. Who should I start? I need 1 QB, 2RB, 2WR, a flex and a DST. Are L. Coles, Mike Wallace, or D. Avery worth picking up to start? I like Coles vs. Cleveland.
Hi John,
Pick 3: AJ, Q, DeSean, MSW, TO
JP -
who do you sit out of this cornucopia of WRs:
Randy Moss vs. NO
Sidney Rice vs. CHI
Chad Ocho vs. CLE
Greg Jennings vs. DET
(we start 3)
thanks
my QB’s are Romo, E. Manning and Flacco. We only start one and I don’t like any of these guys this week. Of the three I probably would start Manning but I keep thinking Flacco has to break out sometime and Romo is my usual starter but is dinged up. Should I drop Flacco and go after any of the following that are available; Hasselbeck, A. Smith, or Cassel? Also with my lineup should I drop someone to grab Fred Jackson? Thanks for all your help!!
Hi JP, who would you pick,
RB = F.Gore, R.Mendenhall or B.Wells = pick 1
WR = DeSean Jackson, S.Smith (NYG) or M.Sim-Walker = pick 1
W/R = pick 1 from the above. 7 rushing yards = 1 pt. 5 receiving yards = 1 pt.
DEF = SD or SF or Den
this week is pivotal. I have been hosed by dallas now three weeks. have brady, wayne, celek, tynes and eagles d.
here are options:
RB: barber, snelling, forsett, mccoy, wells, scott (not sure on starting status of all of these)
I am leaning toward barber, snelling and forsett and mccoy as a last minute in case one of others isn’t starting. but wells has done well last three week.
WR: austin, nicks, garcon. Everybody likes the idea of austin but the last two weeks he has been well nobody. garcon is taking all of waynes diversions. and nicks is always good for 7. but I want 10!
your thoughts. this short week has me going crazy. and it would appear everyone is playing good matchups points wise.
Hey JP-
I’m in such a bind! I’m in a standard league (QB, 2RB, RB/WR, 2WR, TE, D/ST, K).
I have Brees for QB and Miller for TE.
But my WR and RB and Flex positions are struggling. Who should I choose? Thanks for all your help!!
Possible choices are: Gore, Hightower, Sims-Walker, Ochocinco, Holmes, McCoy, Nicks, Wallace.
I also have Dan Carpenter as a kicker and Gostkowski. My gut says Gostkowski. Is that right?
Thanks for all your continuous help!
I also have Burleson.
Also, I’ve said this previously, but I don’t blame you for not remembering: My league is non-PPR.
Who do I start this week my roster is a-rod, schaub, mojo, ricky willaims, mendenhall, p.thomas, welker, v.jackson, driver, sims-walker, h.miller, winslow. I need 1qb 2rb 3wr 1te(non-ppr)Thanks
DEF = SD or SF or Den or Carolina or Miami?
Hey JP….Need TE.I have Witten but not sure if He’ll play this week.Any advice on who to grab off waivers?I see that Boss, Keller,And a few others are available. Also at RB, S.Jackson,Snelling, and Cartwright( need 2)
Non PPR Touchdown heavy…..Thanx again!
Almost forgot…I also have McCoy at RB
Bren — The only change I would make would be to start DAL over NO. The Saints have had a better year, but the Cowboys have a great matchup this week (while NO has a terrible matchup).
Ken — Tough call at QB, but I’d go with Eli, who is playing well and facing a DEN defense that is struggling. At RB, I’d definitely start Jones. Forte is a decent start since this is a PPR league, but if J. Jones is out again, I might go with Forsett instead. At WR, I’d go with Jennings, Mason and Smith (Forsett over Smith at flex if Jones does NOT play). I’d start DAL DT vs. OAK at home. I’d recommend picking up Avery, but you don’t really have anyone to drop. Flacco has two nice matchups in the next two weeks.
Pradeep — MSW and Q have great matchups. I’d go with AJ as well.
Indy — Ugh. I’d hate to sit any of these guys. I guess I’d bench Ochocinco, who has the least-best matchup. I’m worried about Ochocinco and Jennings, in terms of CLE and DET being able to keep the game close enough that CIN and GB have to keep passing.
Scorpion — Gore at RB, MSW (great matchup) at WR, and if you want upside at flex, go with Jackson. if you want sure points, go with Smith. I’d run the Chargers out there at DT. They are playing well.
Back in a bit with more answers.
Hey John, I’m going against number 1 in both of my leagues this week. If there’s ever a time I could use your help it’s now.
First league has a .5 PPR
Starting QB, 2WR, 2RB, TE, 2 Flex
WR
Steve Smith (Car)
Randy Moss
Brandon Marshall
Steve Breaston
Massaquoi
Jason Avant
RB
Ricky Williams
AP
Rock Cartwright
Question on this one is do you think Massaquoi will have another explosive game against CIN like he did last time. Any is Cartwright really going be worth all the hype?
Second league has a .2 PPR
Starting QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1Flex
QB
Cutler or Big Ben
WR
Fitz
Jennings
S.Smith(CAR)
RB
R.Rice
T.Jones
Steve Slaton
Rock Cartwright
Once again my questioning on Cartwright, and how do you feel about Slaton this week?
Thanks John
dave D — At RB, I think your instincts are right, though I’d rank Scott ahead of McCoy if everyone is starting (i.e. Turner, Westbrook, Benson and Jones are all out). It sounds like Jones is the most likely to play. I’d go with McCoy over Forsett and Scott if Jones and Benson play. At WR, I’d rank them Austin, Garcon, Nicks. It’s close, but Austin has the most upside.
Caroline — did you just copy and paste this question from last week? Go with Gore, Hightower, McCoy, MSW and Ochocinco. Gost at K.
Evan — Rodgers, MJD, Ricky, Welker, Vincent, MSW, Miller.
Scorpion — SD.
Da Kid — Neither guy has a good matchup, but Boss would be a solid start. He has been hot. Jackson and Snelling at RB.
Randy — I wouldn’t risk starting Massaquoi against a good Cincy defense. He had a nice game against them last time, so they will be focused. I’d start the top three in each of your lists: Smith, Moss, Marshall, Ricky, AP and Cartwright. Is Cartwright worth the hype? He’s a starting RB that was available on the waiver wire, that’s why he’s getting so much attention this week. Second league — Ben at QB, assuming he starts. I’d start Fitz, Jennings, Rice and TJ for sure. The big question is Slaton vs. Smith. Given a .2 PPR, I’d go with Slaton. I don’t feel great about either but they are both solid starts.
Thanks John, that’s actually what I had, but I always like to hear your opinion as well. One last question. NO Def against NE or pickup MIA Def for the week against BUF?
I picked up Hasselbeck (I dropped an extra DST I had) to go along with Romo, Flacco, and Eli. Do I still start Eli or would you go with Hasselbeck vs. St. Louis?
I’m in first and am playing the only guy in my division who beat me, so this is a huge game.
I’m in a PPR League.
Starters
Drew Brees
Sidney Rice
Terrel Owens
Deangelo Williams
Thomas Jones
Jason Snelling
Kellen Winslow
Bench
Cedric Benson
Bernard Scott
Miles Austin
Marshawn Lynch
Santana Moss
Kevin Walter
Last I read, Benson and Scott look to be splitting carries pretty equally this week. Any help would be much appreciated.
Also, I’d like to pick up the Packers D for the week but have no space, and my current D is New Orleans. Who do u recommend I drop, or should I deal with a bad match up for a week?
Randy — Tough to bench the Saints. They are far and away the best fantasy defense this year and the game is in NO. I guess I’d roll with them even with a bad matchup. BUF looked a little better last week and the MIA game is in Buffalo.
Ken — I’m leaning Hasselbeck here, though Eli is a decent start against DEN.
Gardner — I don’t think I’d change your starters unless it looks like Turner is going to play. On defense, I’d roll with NO. It would be nice to run the Packers out there, but NO has been good and they’re playing at home. It would be wise to keep your bench. Of all the guys there, I’d probably cut S. Moss first if you really do want to go with GB this week.
JP-
What do you think about Broncos or Patriots for D/ST?
3 in a row…lets see if we can make it 4.
Here’s my line up:
QB: P.Manning
RB: T.Jones
WR: S.Rice
W/R: Housh
BN: P.Thomas, Burleson, Breaston
Would you start these players or is there someone on the bench that has a better match up?
Caroline K — I don’t really like either unit this week, but NE is playing better than DEN. Are one of my DTBWW picks available? I’d hold onto NE due to a great schedule down the stretch, but you could cut DEN.
Texas — You are good to go.
Have a good Thanksgiving, everyone. I’ll be back tomorrow to answer more questions.
Hey JP-
Happy Thanksgiving! Both the Dolphins and Seahawks are available and so are the Ravens. What do you think??
Thanks!!
Hey JP-
I heard that MSW may not play this week–If that’s truly the case do you think I should start Burleson, Holmes or Nicks in my WR2 position? Thanks!
I’d grab Baltimore. They should get a few sacks on Big Ben. MSW was just held out of practice, but if it looks like he won’t play, I like S. Holmes this week.
So my fiancé has heard me talk about your recommendations so much he has asked me to post for him (btw I’m killing him in fantasy). His q: Calvin Johnson or maroney.
My q: rb: forte rice wells. Need 2.
Wr: meachem or housh?
Thanks! Happy thanksgiving!
Who to start (Non-PPR):
RB (need 2): Rice, Turner (if plays), Forsett, Wells, Norwood (if plays)
I know Rice has a tough matchup but he seems to do better against good teams because he becomes the Raven’s only offense. I would like to start Turner if he plays; is that wise? What is Forsett’s value with or without Jones?
WR (need 2):TO, A Bryant, Burleson, Breaston
Also; do you think it would be worth dropping Keller for Casey? My TE position is killing me and even though it seems like Keller has a lot of targets he does not put up a ton of points. What do you think Casey’s value going forward is? (or I can wait and drop Finley on Monday for Casey but a few teams in my league also need TE help and he may not last that long) or should I just leave it alone unless he blows up.
As always, thanks for the great help.
Happy Thanks Giving JP,Hope all was well!
I have a dilemma here,Im in a must win situation & Dont know who 2 start at RB.
I have S.Jax,P.Thomas,McCoy. I need 2.
With S Jax availability questionable,Im not sure who 2 start.I dont think Thomas is really an option this week & I have room on my roster for a pick up.Who should I play? And who would do you think could be a nice waiver addition 4 this week?
Thanx Again !!
Hey JP
i have mark sanchez and kurt warner at QB witch should i start
pick 3 RBs to start: deangelo williams, cedric benson, pierre thomas, beanie wells, jamal lewis, or donald brown
pick 3 WRs: derrick mason, jeremy maclin, pierre garcon, torry holt, earl bennet, or massaquoi..its a ppr league
should i start saints defense or pick up one of dese:
texans, redskins, titans, or chicago
Thnx
Apparently Slaton will be sharing carries again this week. Who would you suggest in the flex, Slaton or Cartwright?
Mandy — Looks like we’re late on the Calvin question for your hubby. To answer yours, I think Rice and Forte are your best options at RB, even if Forte is better in the passing game than the running game right now. At WR, I’d go with Housh, who has a nice matchup and is more dependable than Meachem (who has a tough matchup).
RJR — I really like Forsett this week if Jones does not play, so I’d start him over Turner alongside Rice. Rice is pretty much a must-start against any defense right now. If Jones does play, I’d go with Turner. TO and Burleson look like your best options at WR. I wouldn’t roll the dice with Bryant who has been hobbled all year and has a rookie QB throwing to him. At TE, I’d stick with Keller. Like you said, he gets a ton of targets and that’s half the battle. I’d rather have Finley than Casey right now.
DaKid — It’s tough to give you a recommendation without knowing who’s on your waiver wire. You could check out our Waiver Wire Watch for some ideas. If Jackson plays, start him alongside McCoy. If he doesn’t play, start Pierre. Kenneth Darby appears to be Jax’s backup right now, so he might be worth a pickup.
Alex — Warner is Q but is expected to play. I’d go with him. At RB, I’d go with DeAngelo and Benson, but if Benson doesn’t go (and B. Scott isn’t available on your WW) then I’d plug in Wells. At WR, I’d go with Mason, Maclin and…Garcon, I guess. Massaquoi killed the Bengals last time they played but he’s been very undependable. None of those defenses have very good matchups, so I’d stick with NO DT.
Randy — I think I’d go with Cartwright who has a better than advertised matchup. (Better than Slaton’s, anyway.)
Its a little late but I need to know whether to go with B Wells, J Forsett or J Charles?? Thanks man!
Since Jones is out, I’d recommend Forsett!
