The inevitable has come to fruition: Tiger Woods and his wife Elin have legally parted ways.

From ESPN.com:

The divorce was granted in Bay County Circuit Court in Panama City, Fla., about 375 miles away from their Isleworth home outside Orlando. The couple married in October 2004 in Barbados and have a 3-year-old daughter, Sam, and a 19-month-old son, Charlie.

The marriage was described in court documents as “irretrievably broken” with no point in trying to reconcile. Terms of the divorce were not disclosed, except that they will “share parenting” of their two children.

Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, declined comment when asked if the couple had a prenuptial agreement or terms of the settlement. “We’re not commenting beyond what was in the release,” he said.

The sordid sex scandal cost Woods three major corporate sponsors — Accenture, AT&T and Gatorade — worth millions of dollars, and he lost his image as the gold standard in sports endorsements. A month after the scandal became public, Woods spent two months in therapy at a Mississippi clinic with hopes of saving his marriage.

The terms of the divorce may not have been disclosed, but there’s no doubt that Elin got p.a.i.d. And why shouldn’t she have been? She underwent major public embarrassment over the last 10 months and had to endure all the nasty details of how her husband banged anything with two legs and a pulse over the last X amount of years. I think that’s deserving of a little coin.

While this may be a relief for Tiger now that the divorce has been finalized, his wallet won’t be the only thing affected by this scandal. One day, when his kids are older, they’re going to ask him why he and Elin aren’t together anymore. And unless the internet gets swallowed up by a black hole sometime in the near future, he’s going to have to disclose a lot about his past.

He has only begun to take a beating for his actions.

Tigers’ wife Elin seeking a divorce

“I’m going to take you for everything you’re worth.”

According to FOX Sports.com, Elin Nordegren is seeking a divorce from golfer Tiger Woods.

Nordegren was recently photographed without her wedding ring.

“It would not appear that Elin Nordegren is going to be standing by her man,” Kate Coyne, senior editor at People Magazine, told “Good Morning America.”

Coyne also claimed Nordegren is “shopping around” for a divorce attorney.

But ABCNews.com’s source said Nordegren is not “rushing to divorce.”

“She’s going to take her sweet time. She wants all the dirty laundry to be out on the table before she signs anything.”

When reached for comment, Tiger had this to say in response:

“I’m going golfing!”

Okay, so he didn’t really say that.

Good for Elin. He publicly humiliated her and has been cheating on her with God knows how many women. She should take him to the cleaners and call it a day; she should have no trouble finding someone else.

Report: Woods found shoeless, snoring in the street

According to a report by ESPN.com, Tiger Woods was found shoeless and snoring in the street when neighbors came upon him following his accident last week.

By the time authorities arrived, Tiger Woods was on the ground outside the SUV. His wife told them she used a golf club to break open rear windows and free him.

According to the Sentinel’s report, Harris told the FHP she was in a bedroom when she heard what she described as a “knocking sound.” Through a window, she said she could see the tail lights of a black vehicle. She awoke her brother and asked him to go outside.

Adams saw Woods, unconscious and snoring, in the street on the passenger side of the SUV. A golf cart was next to the vehicle, with two golf clubs in it. Woods’ wife, Elin, wearing a black jogging suit, begged Adams for help, according to the report.

“She said, ‘Can you please help me? Can you please help me?’ ” Adams said, the Sentinel reported.

“I said ‘OK.’ I immediately just ran back to the house, got the phone, called 911, ran back out the house again to go back out there to see if she needed any assistance,” he said.

Nothing makes sense here and these new twists don’t help bring clarity to the situation. If I didn’t know better, I would think that I was reading a script to a comedy. I can’t even begin to put together the puzzle of events that transpired that night to make sense of it all.

Why were he and Elin out there in their car and golf carts? Why did she break the back window open to get him out of the car? Why would he wind up shoeless and asleep after the accident?

What a bizarre freaking story.

Woods: “I have let my family down.”

On Wednesday, Tiger Woods published a statement on his website addressing the allegations surrounding his personal life.

I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it’s difficult.

I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology.

The Florida Highway Patrol charged Tiger with careless driving and issued him a traffic citation. The fine is $164 and four points on his driving license.

On top of The National Enquirer report that he had an affair with nightclub manger Rachel Uchitel, two more females have allegedly been linked to Tiger off the course.

From Contributor Bulletin.com:

Five days in the making after Tiger Woods was in a car accident. It dominated the internet searches and after that his alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel whose name is the main searches in the search engines for several days. Then came out Joanna Jagoda, Woods former girlfriend.

The new girl is Jaimee Grubbs who claims that she has 31 months relationship with Tiger Woods. She even has the evidence to prove it through text messages and voice messages. What will be the [sic] next? Will it be Tiger Woods divorce with his wife which will be inevitable because of him who has many mistresses?

It’s important to keep in mind that these are just rumors and it wouldn’t be entirely shocking to find out that these girls just want their 15 minutes of fame any way they can get it. That said, I doubt Tiger will release any more statements outside of the one above and why should he? It’s a private matter that should be just that: Private.

Woods to skip the Chevron World Challenge

According to the GolfChannel.com, Tiger Woods will not compete in this week’s Chevron World Challenge following his accident early Friday morning.

According to sources close to the situation, Tiger Woods will not play this week’s Chevron World Challenge in the wake of last week’s accident outside his Isleworth home.

There has been no announcement on Woods’ Web site.

For the second consecutive year the world No. 1 will not be playing the event that benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation. He missed the tournament last year while recovering from knee surgery.

It remains unclear whether doctors will allow him to travel to California from Florida later this week.

According to sources, doctors have advised him that he should not travel due to headaches and soreness.

This isn’t surprising in the least. Regardless of his physical alignments, Tiger wasn’t going to put himself in position to be surrounded by the media for a couple days just one week after his accident. It’s best for him to lay low for a while and let his situation settle in before he tries to go out in the public eye (not to mention play golf).

The media will have to wait a little longer to probe Tiger with an onslaught of questions that stand little chance to be answered.
