One of the greatest soccer players of all time capped his amazing career with a World Cup championship. Lionel Messi led Argentina to victory in an epic final match over France that will be talked about as long as people care about soccer.

You can follow the twists and turns of the match in this rundown from Fox Sports which includes video highlights that were shared by the network on Twitter.

Messi scored twice in the match, while French superstar Kylian Mbappé in France’s amazing comebacks. The match was a story of leads and comebacks. Argentina built a 2-0 lead by halftime, and had plenty of chances to extend the lead. But France stormed back led by Mbappé to send the match to overtime. His second goal was simply spectacular. Argentina took another lead, only to have Mbappé tie it again on a penalty kick in the 118th minute.

The match then went to penalty kicks, which always adds even more drama. It almost didn’t seem fair to have a match this good be decided in this way. Both Messi and Mbappé hit the opening penalty kicks for their respective sides, but then Emi Martinez made his first save in the penalty kick round, and then Gonzalo Montiel ultimately hit the winner for Argentina.

What a game!

Messi deserves this, and we have to consider that Mbappé is only 26. He’ll have more opportunities, but this one has to sting for him and for all of France.

Meanwhile, it’s party time in Argentina!!

I’m not a fan of penalty kicks deciding a soccer game, let alone an entire tournament. But that was exciting! It was one of the more dramatic penalty shootouts in soccer history, as Italy completed its comeback to win the Euro Championship over England.

19-year-old Bukayo Saka missed the decisive penalty kick after Italy’s Jorginho had a chance to win it with the final kick, while Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho also failed to convert. Rashford and Sancho were late substitutions just minutes prior to the end of extra time, calling into question the strategy of putting players immediately into a penalty situation with no chance to get into the feel of the game.

England took an early lead in the second minute, stunning the Italians, who then began a relentless assault in search of the equalizer. They finally found it in the 67th minute when Leonardo Bonucci tapped in a rebound shot.

This was another crushing defeat for England, while also representing redemption for Italy, one of soccer’s biggest powers that somehow failed to qualify for the last World Cup. Roberto Mancini resurrected the Italian side by finding a way to bring a more joyful and aggressive approach to a side that had become too cautious and unimaginative. This was quite a return to glory for Italy in a tournament filled with excitement. We can hardly wait for the World Cup next year!

The 2019/2020 Premier League season has experienced many challenges, including the longest season break ever. Nevertheless. Football fanatics will also not forget that it is the first season that seems very promising with a notable narrative of the youngsters’ campaign led by the likes of Chelsea’s Frank Lampard, who have introduced youngsters to the epicenter of professional football.

The minimum age limit of a senior footballer is set at 16 by FIFA; giving may rising stars an opportunity to showcase what they are best at. The premier league has already resumed normalcy, and as usual, new expect more minute-play and more action from these young players.

So, which players should you watch out for, especially if you are fascinated with online betting? Remember, there are several sites where you can play and win by merely vouching for your best youngster player! Here is the list of young players to watch put in this season’s Premier League:

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Topping our list is Lampard’s lad Callum Hudson-Odoi who Chelsea fanatics want to see more of at the peak of 2020 season. Callum Hudson-Odoi is a 19-year old star who was expected to show his full potential at Chelsea, but that has not happened since he has only made it to the club’s first five appearances. Callum had just recovered from a long-term Achilles injury before signing to Chelsea and has so far managed to fall as the alternative option for Willian or Christian Pulisic.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was among the first Premier League players to test positive for the novel Coronavirus but has since recovered and returned to action. He is hopeful and optimistic about joining Gareth Southgate’s England squad for European Championship scheduled for next summer.

Mason Greenwood

Manchester United has a long known history of nurturing home talents and incorporating them into the senior team. Mason green, a rising 18-year old superstar, is a perfect example of tapped talents who proved indispensable in the 4000th consecutive feature against Everton. Mason’s ability to score goals with his left foot in “needy” times has earned him the status of today’s Van Persie. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the current Manchester United manager, has also described Greenwood as the best natural finisher of his time. Indeed Mason Greenwood has just started, and he is headed for greatness! If you are a sports betting guru, Mason is here to make you some extra winnings!

Phil Foden

Even though Phil Foden is yet to earn minutes that render him a first-team player, he has already proven that his potential is higher, and all he needs is a chance to vouch for it. Pep Guardiola is on record for refusing to let Phil leave the club on loan, a true testament that his abilities are indispensable. However, Manchester City fanatics are hoping that David Silva’s rumored departure next summer will likely open up a way for the rising 19-year old star.

Troy Parrott

Lastly, Premier League fans would also love to see more of Troy Parrott, especially after he scored 19 times in 27 appearances for Tottenham youth’s side. The current Tottenham manager, Jose Mourinho, has shown signs of retaining the 17-year old rising star as an alternative back-up option in place of Harry Kane.

What a day! What a match! What an incredible bit of La Liga history! At the ripe “old” age of 38, the Real Betis team captain, Joaquin, did something no one of that age has ever accomplished. He scored three goals, commonly called a hat trick, against league rival Athletic Bilbao in a game on 8th December that Betis went on to win by a score of 3 to 1.

The Veteran Comes Through

The amazing feat makes Joaquin the oldest competitor to score a hat trick in the long history of La Liga football. It only took two minutes of play for the mid-fielder to get busy racking up the points. With one strike already on the board, the team leader waited just nine more minutes before zapping another ball into the net for his next goal.

Coincidence?

Then, again precisely nine minutes later, Joaquin nailed another. The phenomenal day for the player marked the first hat trick of his career. This season, he had already amassed three goals before the spectacular game against Athletic Bilbao. Betis is Joaquin’s boyhood team, on which he began his long, successful career. It’s fitting that he is now finishing out a renowned playing career with the very same team that gave the Spaniard his start.

One Game in a Successful Season So Far

The team currently stands at 11th among the La Liga teams for the season, boasting a record of six wins, four draws, and six losses. The team has won three of their last five games, drawn one and lost one. With 22 competition points on the board (wins count for three points, draws for one, and losses for zero) this season, Betis is just 12 points behind league leader, Barcelona.

History in the Making

The three-score meant that Joaquin bested a record for the oldest La Liga player to score a hat trick that had stood for than a half-century. In 1964, Alfredo di Stefano scored one of many career triples at age 37. It was di Stefano’s last in a career that made him a true legend of the game. Seventeen years after Alfredo put those three goals into the net in 1964, Joaquin was born.

After the historic match against Bilbao last week, the mid-fielder noted that he has never had a reputation as being a prolific goal-scorer but was quite proud to have achieved the feat against a worthy opponent like Athletic Bilbao. He jokingly pointed out that “At my age,” it’s even harder to net three goals in a single game. The hat trick was the first ever for the player who now enters the record books for the stunning accomplishment. The game itself gave quite a boost to the team’s league ranking, sending them up to the eleventh slot on the board.

A Look Ahead

With a newfound confidence, a new front of shirt sponsor Easymarkets since the start of the season, and a renewed competitive spirit, the Betis squad looks forward to the remaining games of the 2019/2020 season. With 23 games left to go, virtually anything could happen to transform the La Liga standings.
