In the spirit of March Madness, the NBA is conducting a Big Dance Bracket where fans (or dirty old men) can vote for their favorite dance squads. Since the site is only providing still pictures of the respective dance squads, I’m guessing that we’re supposed to vote based on their appearance, not their dance prowess.

On Sunday, the 23 players invited to play or tryout for Team USA were officially announced. The only two collegiate players on the list are Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison and Duke’s J.J. Redick.
“They’re both great scorers,” Krzyzewski said. “I think some collegiate players going into this type of situation would be a little bit intimidated. I don’t think either one of these guys will. They more define the specialist role.”
Coach K appears determined to have enough shooters on Team USA, which was one of the downfalls of the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team.
There are a ton of interesting matchups in the college ranks this weekend, as bubble teams try to get another good win to add to their resume. The biggest game, of course, is the Duke/UNC matchup tomorrow night. ESPN is covering the game on about forty different channels, so it is unlikely that the game will live up to the hype. In the NBA, the Suns/Mavs matchup is the best one this weekend.

As fellow blogger JP reported earlier, Knicks owner James Dolan has voiced his support for GM Isiah Thomas, saying, among other things:
“Maybe some people think I’m brain-dead because of that, but time will tell.”
Maybe?
Honestly, how does Isiah still have a job? Stephon Marbury and Steve Francis in the same backcourt? Fortunately, when one of the Knicks SPG (shooting point guards) has trouble sharing the ball, Larry Brown can go to the bench for…Jamal Crawford. And Quentin Richardson.
Rumor has it Isiah is trying to lure Allan Houston out of retirement by offering him a three-year extension at $7 million per season. Gotta keep “stockpiling those assets,” right?
More from Dolan:
“I believe in the plan. I believe in the strategy. I believe in the guys who are executing it. I fully expect you to kill me in the papers tomorrow with this, but I’m going to stick with it…until we stop making progress.”
Um, exactly how much progress can a 15-42 team be making?
By the way, was I the only one who kept expecting Larry Brown to just get up and leave in the middle of the Francis press conference, shaking his head and muttering to himself?
When everyone else around the league seems to be questioning Knicks GM Isiah Thomas’ strategy to improve the team over the past two seasons, the team’s owner, James Dolan, stands firmly behind his general manager.
“I’m not making a change, guys. We’re going to continue on with the strategy. I believe in the plan. I believe in the strategy. I believe in the guys who are executing it. I fully expect you to kill me in the papers tomorrow with this, but I’m going to stick with it. I’m going to stick with it until we stop making progress. I think the course is to stay the course, not knee-jerk.
“Maybe some people think I’m brain-dead because of that, but time will tell,” Dolan added. “I understand people will be unhappy when you’re going through this process.”
There are rumors that Thomas is “stockpiling assets” to land a superstar this offseason, so he’ll likely be around at least through the summer. The only way that anyone is going to trade a superstar for the Knicks’ current assets is if that superstar demands a trade. Thomas might be overestimating the value of shoot-first guys, especially considering the recent success of the Pistons and the Spurs, who have won championships by establishing a team concept.
