Warren Buffett attended a Cavs game on Sunday to watch his friend, LeBron James, play. LeBron has said he wants to be the first “billionaire” athlete, and it looks like he’s very serious about this. Lebron sought out Mr. Buffett to get advice and learn about investing, and Buffett has embraced the relationship.

Yesterday, Duke sophomore Josh McRoberts declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft.
“I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that I have had here at Duke,” McRoberts said. “This was a difficult decision, but I feel it is the best one for me and my family at this point in time. I will miss Duke, the coaching staff and my teammates, but it has always been goal of mine to play in the NBA.”
I’m surprised by this decision. As the 2005-06 season closed, McRoberts was projected to be a top 5 to top 10 pick, but his play this season has been spotty and most of the mock drafts seem to have him in the 10-20 range. He can jump out of the gym and has great speed for a big man, but he hasn’t developed at Duke as much as expected. Christian Laettner and Danny Ferry were more productive with half of McRoberts’ natural ability. Scouts love his athleticism, but for him to be a star in the NBA, he’s going to have to develop a more polished post game and a good 15′ jumper. The Blue Devils couldn’t rely on either this season.
For Duke, this decision could be a blessing in disguise. Patrick Patterson, the #4 PF in the country and the top high school player still uncommitted, was perhaps waiting for McRoberts to declare before committing to Duke. He’s expected to make a decision soon.
Jason Whitlock weighs in on the Greg Oden/Kevin Durant debate, arguing that Durant needs to learn to distribute the basketball and make his teammates better. If he does, he can be the next Larry Bird. If not, he’ll be the next Glenn Robinson.
The Milwaukee Bucks have relieved Terry Stotts of his coaching duties.
“Terry has done the best he could in a difficult situation, especially with all of our injuries,” said [GM Larry] Harris. “I felt it was in the best interest of our organization to make the decision now and move forward, rather than wait until the end of the regular season. I want to thank Terry for his hard work and dedication to our team, and wish him well.”
The Stotts hire felt like a desperation move after Flip Saunders shunned the Bucks, instead deciding to take the Detroit job. Milwaukee has a good young nucleus in Michael Redd, Mo Williams, Andrew Bogut and Charlie Villanueva. None of those guys are very defensive minded, however, and the Bucks have struggled on that end of the court, yielding a 5th-worst 103.3 points per game.
This group needs direction from someone they’ll listen to.

Can’t wait for the NCAA Tournament to start tomorrow? The two best teams in the NBA square off tonight at 9 PM ET on ESPN. Both teams have won nine of their last ten and are jockeying for playoff position in the West. It should be a good one.
