Giannis Antetokounmpo is an amazing player, but he gets away with so many traveling calls that it’s becoming ridiculous. The play above is the most extreme example I’ve ever seen, and perhaps the NBA will look at this and alert their blind officials?

Brian Kelly never seemed like a good fit at LSU, even before he made that creepy recruiting video. Kelly is a good coach, but everything always seemed to be about Brian Kelly and finding his next job. He wouldn’t hesitate to leave a program, even Notre Dame.
With jobs open at Florida and Penn State as well, along with many other programs, this should be an intersting offseason. Plenty of coaches are going to leverage this to get raises at their current jobs . . . see Curt Cignetti at Indiana.
All this hype leading into this game was around Arch Manning and the Texas Longhorns, but the defending national champions had something to say about that when it was all said and done.
No. 3 Ohio State took down No. 1 Texas 14-7 in a defensive slugfest at the Horseshoe on a gorgeous day on Saturday. This game had it all: a hyped-up quarterback debut, a suffocating Buckeye defense, and a send-off for an ESPN legend. It also had some obnoxious predictions from SEC homers like Paul Finebaum, who made the ridiculous statement that “the game wouldn’t be close” as he predicted a Texas win.
Now this wasn’t just any season opener—it was a rematch of last year’s College Football Playoff semifinal, where Ohio State beat Texas 28-14 in the Cotton Bowl. Texas came into Columbus as the AP preseason No. 1, with all eyes on redshirt sophomore Arch Manning, making his first start as the Longhorns’ QB1. The hype around Manning was unreal—Heisman buzz, Warby Parker commercials, you name it. Meanwhile, Ohio State, fresh off a national title, rolled in with new quarterback Julian Sayin and a defense ready to prove it’s still the best in the country.

Tom Brady has announced his retirement from the NFL, and it’s not hyperbole to say that this is the end of an era. Brady is the most successful quarterback in NFL history and is widely recognized as the greatest player to have played the position. Patrick Mahomes may have something to say about that over the next ten years, but for now nobody is coming close to Brady’s accomplishments.
After last year’s retirement fiasco and his subsequent personal issues, Brady handled this one in a clean and subdued manner, with a simple announcement on Instagram that didn’t leak. He handled it with class.
He also avoided any silly Brady vs. Belichick talk following his announcement by having Bill Belichick join him on his podcast, giving both of them the opportunity to gush over the other’s accomplishments, which frankly came off as very authentic.
Belichick was effusive in his praise of Brady, and went into great detail about how Brady saw the field and recognized coverages.
We were treated to a great Super Bowl last night. It featured the two best teams in the NFL fighting it out to the finish, with both quarterbacks delivering impressive performances. The penalty on the last drive was unfortunate because it prevented a final drive from Jalen Hurts and the Eagles to tie or win the game, but the holding call was probably correct. In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs were able to pull out a win over a tough Philadelphia Eagles team that came to play.
Going into the game, the Eagles were a 1.5 point favorite with the over/under at around 50. The game was very close and lived up to the billing of the two best teams in the NFL making it to the game. The Eagles were the sexy pick to cover, and the Patrick Mahomes injury was certainly a factor, but as we pointed out, the Eagles hadn’t faced a very tough schedule. Could their defense hold up against Mahomes if he was relatively healthy?
