According to the Washington County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Office, Jaguars’ wide receiver and ultimate bust Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday for possession of a controlled substance.

Matthew Paul Jones, 25, was booked into jail at 4:11 a.m. He was being held without bond until a hearing scheduled in Washington County Circuit Court on Friday.

Jones, who played quarterback during his college career in Arkansas, has not been an asset for the Jaguars in the receiver position. Jones had just 24 catches for 317 yards and four touchdowns in 2007.

Nice picture, sport.

These athletes clearly shouldn’t go back home, because they can’t stay out of trouble. All of Cedric Benson’s off field issues were in Texas, his hometown. Now Jones is busted in his hometown of Arkansas. Well, any question as to if Jones will make it out of Jags’ camp has been answered. Looks like he might not even make it to camp.
