– Devin Hester (1-2) almost scored on his one catch, but was knocked out of the game. It doesn’t look serious. Johnny Knox (5-31) was the top Bears’ receiver and scored on a kickoff return.

– Mohamed Massaquoi (8-148) was targeted 13 times by Derek Anderson compared to Braylon Edwards’ five targets. Edwards failed to register a catch. Is Massaquoi the Browns’ new WR1? He certainly had his coming out party against the Bengals.

– Austin Collie (6-65-1) had a very nice game against the Seahawks, including a terrific TD catch. He has caught nine passes for 112 yards and a TD in the last two weeks.

– Mike Sims-Walker (7-92-2) is a stud. He has caught 19 passes over the last three weeks. He fits the mold of a third-year breakout WR, but was on a lot of waiver wires to start the year because he was missing time due to injury late in the preseason. To this point, he looks like the waiver wire pickup of the year.

– Kenny Britt (7-105) and Nate Washington (7-66-1) both had nice games for the Titans, who are having to throw the ball a lot more this year since they can’t stop the pass on defense. Justin Gage only had five targets.

– Steve Smith (11-134-2) has broken out of the “possession receiver” mold and is turning into one of the best young wideouts in the league. He is consistently Eli Manning’s favorite WR and was targeted 16 times. Mario Manningham was targeted eight times but only caught one pass for 43 yards. All signs point to the “other” Steve Smith outscoring the “original” (CAR) in PPR formats.

– Surprisingly, Dwayne Bowe (1-11) played, but he was only targeted four times.

– Wes Welker (6-48) returned to action and led the Pats in targets with 10. Randy Moss (3-50-1) tied with two others with five targets. Welker is a must-start in PPR leagues.

– Santana Moss (2-74-1) was only targeted four times, but he made them count by catching a 59-yard TD late in the third quarter.

– Antonio Bryant (4-44-1) was a surprise start and caught an early TD.

– It looks like Chad Henne is going to limit Ted Ginn’s upside. He only had one catch for four yards on just three targets.

– If Chansi Stuckey (1-8) can’t produce against the Saints when his team is trailing all day, then he should be cut in most leagues.

– With his sick (and I don’t use that term often) TD catch against the Cowboys, Brandon Marshall (4-91-1) proved that he is still one of the best WRs in the league, even if Kyle Orton is only going to target him six times. Eddie Royal (2-16 on six targets) continues to be a bust. I recommend sticking with him, but I’m losing patience too.

– Donnie Avery (3-47) finally showed some life. He shouldn’t be on the waiver wire in most 12-team leagues.

– The Steelers were able to run the ball, so it’s no surprise that Santonio Holmes (4-52) had a relatively quiet game. That’s just how it works.
