According to Newschannel 5 in Tennessee, Titans’ defensive end Jevon Kearse was arrested for DUI early Sunday.

Around 4:45 Sunday morning Vanderbilt police said Kearse was speeding and swerving several times while travelling west on West End Avenue. The officer who pulled the Titans over said Kearse exhibited slurred speach, red eyes, and smelled of alcohol.

The officer said Kearse stated that he only had one vodka and a red bull.

A Vanderbilt police officer said, he noticed a Cadillac Escalade swerving in and out of lanes traveling west, going at least 40 miles an hour in the 30 mile an hour zone. And a statement from Vanderbilt police said, “The officer had reasonable grounds to believe the driver was impaired by alcohol. The driver submitted to field sobriety tests, which indicated he was impaired. He refused to take a breathalyzer test.”

According to Vanderbilt police, Kearse had two passengers. Kearse was booked Sunday morning, but was later released. According to Vanderbilt police, he released the Escalade to one of the passengers. A member of Titans’ security drove Kearse away Sunday morning. He will have to appear in court to face DUI charges.
