According to SPORTSbyBROOKS.com (via the Milwaukee-Sentinel), Brett Favre has not signed his official retirement papers yet.
It’s more than a minor detail, as once Favre files the paperwork, “the Green Bay Packers will strike $11.4 million from payroll and quite possibly lead the National Football League in available salary cap room.”
So what’s the holdup? The J-S went to our favorite, all-knowing Southern Mississippi sports agent Bus Cook for the answer.
His agent, James “Bus” Cook, said he had no idea where Favre was in the process of filing the paperwork that would finalize his retirement.
Interesting. Many people are still waiting for Favre to change his mind once again and this might be proof that he’s not done. Then again, he might just be procrastinating. If he is procrastinating, I’m sure the Packers are real happy about it seeing as how they could free up $11.4 million. That money could be used to extend Greg Jennings’s contract.
