Kyle Kendrick showed up to Philadelphia Phillies’ training camp over the weekend and was completely shocked to find out that he was traded to Japan’s Yomiuri Giants for “Kobayashi Iwamura.”
If only Kobayashi Iwamura was real, that is. Teammate Brett Myers set up the elaborate prank, which included manager Charlie Manuel, assistant GM Ruben Amaro Jr. and even the media.
Myers was freaking hilarious. This poor kid is in agony and Myers goes, “I’m sorry man. I’m real sorry man. Does the guy throw hard? Does he have a good sinker, or what?”
“Kid got traded for a hot dog eater!”
