Seattle Seahawks assistant head coach Jim Mora is set to interview for the vacant head-coaching job in Washington. Does Jim know that it isn’t that Washington?
Just over a year ago, Mora went on a Washington (the state of, not DC) radio show and blabbed to the host about his desire to coach at his alma mater – The University of Washington.
Interviewer: If it ever works out, if there’s an opening, and you’re available, we want you to coach the Huskies.
Mora: Well, I really have a lot of respect for Ty, and I know he’ll do a great job. But if he ever decides to move on, and get in the NFL or you know, go back to Notre Dame or whatever, if that job’s open you’ll find me at the friggin’ head of the line with my resume in my hand ready to take that job.
Interviewer: If you’re available.
Mora: It doesn’t even matter if I’m available.
Interviewer: You would leave the Falcons for that job?
Mora: Absolutely.
Hey good news for him – he doesn’t have to leave the Falcons job now! He can go right to the friggin’ head of the line with his resume in hand, although he might be a little disappointed to find out that DC is a good 2,700-plus miles away from his apparent Huskies’ dream job.
