In the aftermath of the Rangers’ 30-3 thrashing of the Orioles Wednesday night, ESPN.com columnist David Schoenfield listed the “100 greatest beatdowns in history”.
Some were pretty humorous:
44. The playoffs versus Marty Schottenheimer.
50. Bo Jackson over Brian Bosworth, Monday Night Football, 1987.
51. The Ice Age over the dinosaurs.
77. The NFL versus Ryan Leaf.
85. Angelina Jolie versus Jennifer Aniston.
The playoffs versus Marty Schottenheimer had me rolling.
Paul Costanzo and the boys at The Daily Forecast did an interesting blog back in March entitled, “Comparing athletes and porn stars”. The gist of the blog (if it isn’t already obvious by the title) is to take a porn star and compare him or her to an athlete based on their social standing in their profession.
The Forecast’s most obvious example was Jordan and Jameson:
Michael Jordan = Jenna Jameson
This is an easy one, the greatest basketball player ever, and probably most popular athlete ever is the equivalent of the one name in porn you can say and not have a single person think you’re a pervert for knowing. Tiger Woods could also be considered here.
The rest of the list is pretty interesting and humorous, you know, if you’re into that kind of stuff. I for one, had no idea who any of the porn stars were until I clicked on the Wikipedia links provided. Jenna Jameson? No idea who that is, but apparently she’s a big deal in the porn world – who knew?
When the Baltimore Orioles announced they would bring back Dave Trembley for the 2008 season, it must have been a tremendous moment for the interim manager. A tremendous moment, that is, for about seven hours.
Trembley’s bunch got absolutely hammered by the Texas Rangers Wednesday night, surrendering 29 hits in a 30-3 rout. It was the most runs scored by an MLB team since the Chicago Colts scored 36 in 1897. Talk about an utter embarrassment for Trembley, who must have thought to himself, “What the hell did I ever do to you baseball gods!”
So, uh, yeah…congratulations on the promotion Dave…
It’s been a week since its release, but Madden 08 is still fresh in the minds and hearts of gamers everywhere. If you haven’t checked out the game yet, make sure to read Jason Zingale’s Madden 08 review on Bullz-Eye.com.

I saw this clip again recently and I just had to post it. For those unaware of Sacha Baron Cohen’s work, he was Borat and in Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell. But before that, he did Da Ali G Show, which is where this absolute hilarious clip spawned from.
