Brock Lesnar faces Junior Dos Santos at UFC 131 in a No. 1 contender’s bout, but the prize he’s eyeing according to HeavyMMA.com is the title shot with Cain Velasquez.

Lesnar faces Dos Santos in a heavyweight No. 1 contender’s bout at UFC 131 on June 11 in Vancouver with the winner getting a title shot at Velasquez.

Lesnar lost the title to Velasquez at UFC 121 in October of 2010, and Dos Santos stands in his way of an opportunity of regaining the belt.

“I’m angry that I lost last fall, but being angry about it isn’t the solution, but doing something about it, and that’s what I intend to do to get another title shot,” Lesnar said on Monday.

Lesnar made no excuses for the loss to Velasquez, but believes a rematch will be a lot different than their first fight.

“I was healthy physically, but mentally probably not so. I don’t think it really registers to the general public on my year last year from being sick and losing 42 pounds and just to get my ass to the gym to recover and put that weight back on and then having a title fight, and on top of that while I’m training for a title fight a new baby boy, and then fighting Shane Carwin. Then I was expecting some time off because I really needed it mentally more than anything and physically, and then I booked a fight with Cain (Velasquez),” said Lesnar.

The 23-year old was never in danger throughout the fight. He was able to dictate when it went to the ground and utilized his reach advantage to nullify any offense Rua could mount on the feet.

In the first round, Rua’s guard was active and Jones wasn’t able to do much damage until the former champion tried to get to his feet. As “Shogun” stood, Jones landed a knee that wobbled Rua, and followed it with a left hook.

It was all down hill for Rua after that. Jones secured a takedown in the second stanza and busted Rua up with elbows and punches.
Rua came out with a sense of urgency in the third round. He pressed forward and took Jones’ back briefly, but found himself on the bottom again taking shots.

Jon Jones is tired of being asked about training partner Rashad Evans and instead wants to concentrate on his upcoming light heavyweight title bout with Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 128.

From HeavyMMA.com:

Jon Jones is fed up with answering questions about Rashad Evans.

Heading into the biggest fight of his life against Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in the UFC 128 main event, Jon Jones is done answering questions about training partner Rashad Evans.

Evans was originally scheduled to face Rua on the March 19 event in Newark, N.J., but was forced out of the light heavyweight title bout due to a knee injury. Jones replaced him as Rua’s opponent.

Jones has been asked countless times about Evans and if they’d fight each other leading up to next weekend’s match up, and he’s done discussing it.

“I want to make it clear to other reporters that I absolutely hate when people mention Rashad Evans, especially throughout this training camp,” Jones said on Wednesday.

“He’s a friend of mine, but I’m fighting Mauricio ‘Shogun,’ one of the best fighters that’s been around for a long time. For people to even be mentioning Rashad Evans right now I think is ludicrous.

“Rashad is not in my mind. He’s not in my being. He has absolutely zero to do with my heart and who I am right now,” added Jones.

The judges rendered a majority draw decision following UFC 127’s main event between Jon Fitch and B.J. Penn, a score neither agree with.

“Finally watched the fight back myself. first rnd draw and I won rnd 2 and 3. I will prove myself if I must. But I know I won that fight,” Fitch posted on his official Twitter account on Monday. “Much respect to BJ. He is the legend I thought he was. I think that was the best BJ ANY of us have ever seen.”

Following the fight, Penn told the crowd in Sydney, Australia and millions watching at home that he thought Fitch won the fight.
Moments later, backstage at the Acer Arena, Penn wasn’t so sure.

“The more I’m sitting here thinking about it, I definitely got the better positions and the more dominant positions,” said Penn to UFC.com. “I guess the first thing I was thinking was just the last round, but now, the more I’m sitting here thinking about the first two rounds – I did. I had much better positions than he had.
