Rooting for the Jaguars: Where to stay when you do that

What with the Jaguars signing Aaron Kampman and their upcoming games with the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders, all is excitement and buzz at Jacksonville, FL. If you are planning to get a ticket and come watch one of the upcoming big games, you may need help from some of the Jacksonville Property Management companies to find a good location to stay. One way to go is, of course, the hotels; but you can also think of condo vacation rentals if you are planning a long haul. These are usually much cheaper, and good for large families that want to cook their own food while traveling. These are just like regular rentals except that you rent them for shorter periods, and a good agency can help you scout for one.

Hotels are good, too, if you don’t mind paying money. Jacksonville has some of Florida’s best hotels, including the upscale Wyndham and Hyatt, and the Crown Plaza Riverfront hotel. These will give you access to Jacksonville’s splendid nightlife so you can enjoy if your team wins.

You may want to stay near the grounds; if you do, there are great hotels that you can find right nearby. One of the better places to stay around here is the Jag Club Hotel, which offers complimentary breakfast and deluxe rooms at affordable rates. You can also try for condo rentals near here, and if you are lucky you can find great condos at bargain prices. Just make sure to book a little early so you don’t fall into the rush hour trap. Prices can go up north and west when big games are around the corner; so plan ahead, get a place to stay, arrange for a car if you are not bringing your own, and enjoy the Jaguars beating its opponents.

Athlete Profile: Tim Tebow

Tim TebowHeisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow loves the attention he receives once he makes his way out of a tunnel and onto an opponent’s field, he wants to draw all of the ire from the opposing fans, and let his teammates concentrate on winning the football game.

So go ahead yell, scream obscenities, or make imaginative signs about his homeschooled education. It’s all been done before and none of it bothers Florida’s star quarterback.

Tebow credits his religious upbringing as being the base to give him the inner strength needed to lead on the football field. His parents wanted to instill deep Christian beliefs into the lives of their children, and decided a homeschooled education was their only option.

Bob and Pam Tebow met at a Christian student group meeting on the University of Florida campus in the 1960’s. Together, they wanted to spread the message of their faith as far as humanely possible, and after graduation, the Tebows established a Christian organization to fulfill their passion.

One of their many endeavors throughout the world was creating an orphanage in the Philippines. Last spring, Tebow traveled there with his parents to spend time with the orphans, speak about his faith, and assist the medical staff with certain procedures. The family motto is simple: The Lord has everything under control, and he will take care of the Tebows.
