- NO GUTS NO GLORY informs us that former Kentucky head coach Billy Gillispie got popped for a DUI. No word on whether or not Gillispie was drowning his sorrows over his inability to close the deal with ESPN sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards.

- THE COOLEY ZONE describes a new insurance that is hitting the market — fantasy football insurance.

- EPIC CARNIVAL has video of the 10 best one-kick knockouts in MMA.

- With all the recent talk about NBA scorekeepers inflating certain numbers, DAILY THUNDER wonders if this is happening to Kevin Durant, who averages far more assists at home than he does on the road.

- SPORTSbyBROOKS fills us in on the story of Tony La Russa suing Twitter. Apparently the Cardinals manager doesn’t appreciate fake Twitter profiles that talk about his past DUI charge.

- DEADSPIN breaks down Texas reliever Austin Wood’s recent amazing (or not so amazing?) feat in which he threw 169 pitches in a seven-hour regional game last weekend.

- AWFUL ANNOUNCING says that Tony Kornheiser likes to think that people liked him on Monday Night Football.

- FANSIDED details the ways of how to be successful as a start-up sports blogger. (Maybe John and I should read it, although I am happy to report that TSR is mentioned in the peace.)

- WITH LEATHER shares the news that Danica Patrick would have taken performance-enhancing drugs to win the Indy 500 if she knew she wouldn’t be caught. Apparently to Danica, it’s not cheating if you don’t get caught.

- AWFUL ANNOUNCING has the story of three brave USC “Song Girls” who will be spending a night in a “haunted” hospital as part of a reality show.

- While I agree that Duke is unlikely to make the Final Four this year, IN GAME NOW takes things a step further and makes the claim that the Blue Devils won’t make it that far in the next FIVE years. Why? Well, because they’re “not athletic enough” (i.e. too white).

- One of my favorite news sources, THE ONION, reveals that Nate Robinson is now jumping over Dwight Howard in his everyday life.

- SPORTSBYBROOKS has the story of a fugly 39 year-old women who got 14 months for having sex with three members of a local high school football team. This breaks a string of about 10 straight fairly hot female-teacher-sleeps-with-student stories. Though technically, this one’s not a teacher.

- SI finally fessed up about why they airbrushed away Danica Patrick’s tattoo and DEADSPIN has the quote. Fascinating stuff.

As SPORTSbyBROOKS.com points out, apparently Sports Illustrated wasn’t a big fan of Danica Patrick’s back tattoo, because the mag decided to airbrush it out of a recent photo shoot.

It seems that in the most recent issue of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED’s swimsuit issue, the folks at SI decided to give part-time race care driver and full-time media darling Danica Patrick the Allen Iverson treatment. The folks over at GUNAXIN were kind enough to point out that the tattoo you can see on the small of her back in the photo above, from Danica’s first SI shoot, has magically disappeared.

The question is why SPORTS ILLUSTRATED feels the need to edit the tattoo out all of a sudden, as it’s not like it’s grossly oversized or anything offensive. It’s just an American flag morphing into a checkered flag. Whatever the case is, I’m sure you guys will enjoy investigating.

Boy, is Danica Patrick’s stock slipping or what? She seems to be turning into the Anna Kournikova of the racing world, although at least she did win one major race (out of 64 starts…but still).

Stacy Keibler is smokin’. ESPN needs to pair her with Erin Andrews and have them do SportsCenter a couple times a week. It would be better than the crap they have doing the highlights now.
