Need tickets to the game?
Posted by Administrator (04/04/2010 @ 11:07 am)
We’ve all been in that situation. The big game is coming up, the rivalry you’ve been waiting for all year. Come ticket purchasing time, though, you’re dead broke, waiting on your next paycheck and hoping seats don’t sell out.
You don’t have to wait, though. Cash loans can give you the flexibility to pick up tickets on your schedule and then pay it back as soon as you have the money. Cash loans can give you as much as $700 by next day. That’s plenty of green to buy tickets for you and a friend or two. Then you get to be the hero who got everyone in, not the guy trying to haggle with scalpers for overpriced tickets the day of the game.

Sports Betting & March Madness – A Basketball Lover’s Dream Come True!
Posted by Staff (03/29/2010 @ 2:07 pm)
March Madness is an American institution. Only the NBA’s final four will beat this basketball tournament for fan fanaticism, television market share and, of course, the most wagers place on the game of round ball. Still, before you get ready to make a friendly wager or put down your life savings on which basketball team will emerge on the top of the heap, it will pay to do a bit of research on which team(s) really has the best chance to make to the finals.
Betting on sports can be a lot of fun, and betting on basketball during the Month of March can be out of this world. Still, you don’t want to throw money away. You may love your team, but if you know in your heart they’re going to choke again, you probably ought to bet on a team with better odds. Odds for the upcoming tournament can be obtained through any local bookie (where book making is legal) or through on-line sports betting websites. Be sure to look for which has the best odds for your pick. After all, if your local guy is giving three to one but the website offers four? You’d be smarter to place that bet on line and earn more for your win!
If you’re thinking of betting on line and are not already registered with one of the sports betting websites, get busy. You’ll need to register up front, and in most cases, either transfer money or use your credit card set up an account. Just like with any bookie, the on-line guys will charge you a percentage of your winnings, and maybe a registration fee, as well. It’s always smart to shop around. Then, once your best are placed, sit back with a cold one, some pizza and the gang. Rooting on your team is more fun when, if they win, you win, too!
How To Bet Well
Posted by Staff (03/15/2010 @ 2:32 pm)
With the official kick-off of the basketball season, March Madness fever has really shaken things up, and bets are on about every aspect of the sports, probably including how many times a player uses the loo. Indulge in some good sportsbetting, there’s nothing that spikes up the adrenaline like that. There’s a kind of fervor that you get when your “horse” beats everyone in a close finish that nothing else can give; and the more money that rides on your horse, the better the excitement. So bet all you can, but be a smart bettor. Bet smart of bet silly, betting will always be exciting; but there’s a real world out there that’s gonna be trickier to negotiate if you are not betting with a smart head on your shoulders.
Smart betting 101 will tell you something you probably didn’t expect – when not to bet. You see, betting is about fifty percent chance and fifty percent science. You can control about half of the betting outcome if you know enough about what you are betting about. So, the first thing to learn is, if you are not absolutely passionate about a sports, don’t bet on it. You simply wouldn’t know enough to qualify as a good bettor.
Sportsbetting involves some risk, so make sure you know how much risk you can bear. Give yourself a solid figure; this is what you can afford to lose, strictly from a financial point of view. Then bet using about half that amount. What this does is to limit your betting to a manageable amount; even if you go beyond “half the amount,” you still have another limit that you probably wouldn’t cross.
Finally, know when to quit. Usually, a steady winning streak is the best time to quit. Bet less and less as you win more and more, so that you can quit profitably at the first sign of losing. This is cautious play, but better safe than sorry.
The long-term dangers of taking steroids and similar enhancers
Posted by Staff (03/15/2010 @ 10:23 am)
There is widespread abuse of steroids in our society today and steroid users range from bodybuilders and professional athletes to school-age children and executives. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) believes that there are half a million high school students who are now using steroids and who believe that this is not risky. Another study shows that over one million Americans have said that they have tried steroids. What’s more, dangerous dietary supplements that mimic the action of steroids are sold freely in health shops and over the Internet. People are encouraged in the dangerous belief that these supplements provide the benefits of steroids without the harmful effects.
Anabolic steroids are synthetic variations of the male hormone, testosterone, which occurs naturally in, both, men and women, the testes in the case of man and the ovaries in the case of women. The term anabolic means the building of tissue, mainly muscle tissue. Steroids are often prescribed for genuine medical purposes such as loss of function in the testicles, breast cancer and low blood cell count. Steroids are most commonly misused by professional athletes and bodybuilders who are seeking to build muscle mass and improve physical performance. They are all so used by people in occupations such as security guards and law enforcement who require physical strength and endurance.
People abusing steroids may ingest anything from one to 100 times the safe medical dosage and the length of the abuse will depend on their specific goals For instance, athletes may resort to steroids for a specific period of time while law enforcement officers or security guards may use it continuously The undesirable side effects of anabolic steroids include increased attrition and bad temper, bad effects on the blood pressure and the heart and mood swings. One side effect is also sexual arousal and some people take steroids to improve their sexual prowess. But, with safe medication such as levitra that is available, there is absolutely no need to resort to steroid abuse to solve your sex related problems.
Rooting for the Jaguars: Where to stay when you do that
Posted by Staff (03/13/2010 @ 9:46 am)
What with the Jaguars signing Aaron Kampman and their upcoming games with the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders, all is excitement and buzz at Jacksonville, FL. If you are planning to get a ticket and come watch one of the upcoming big games, you may need help from some of the Jacksonville Property Management companies to find a good location to stay. One way to go is, of course, the hotels; but you can also think of condo vacation rentals if you are planning a long haul. These are usually much cheaper, and good for large families that want to cook their own food while traveling. These are just like regular rentals except that you rent them for shorter periods, and a good agency can help you scout for one.
Hotels are good, too, if you don’t mind paying money. Jacksonville has some of Florida’s best hotels, including the upscale Wyndham and Hyatt, and the Crown Plaza Riverfront hotel. These will give you access to Jacksonville’s splendid nightlife so you can enjoy if your team wins.
You may want to stay near the grounds; if you do, there are great hotels that you can find right nearby. One of the better places to stay around here is the Jag Club Hotel, which offers complimentary breakfast and deluxe rooms at affordable rates. You can also try for condo rentals near here, and if you are lucky you can find great condos at bargain prices. Just make sure to book a little early so you don’t fall into the rush hour trap. Prices can go up north and west when big games are around the corner; so plan ahead, get a place to stay, arrange for a car if you are not bringing your own, and enjoy the Jaguars beating its opponents.
Colts president could do without this year’s Pro Bowl
Posted by Christopher Glotfelty (01/26/2010 @ 4:11 pm)

Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian dislikes the 2010 Pro Bowl as much as every NFL fan.
From ESPN.com:
“It’s stupid,” he said on the Dan Dakich Show on 1070 The Fan in Indianapolis. “It’s a disruption, but we’ll deal with it.”
Polian: “Well, we’ll come back to practice on Wednesday. We’ll practice Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. They’ll have off Saturday. If it weren’t for the Pro Bowl disruption, they would have the weekend off, but they can’t because we have to send those players to Miami to do Lord knows what. We’ll come back and practice on Sunday and the Pro Bowl players will go and do whatever they have to do and then the team will leave on Monday.”
(So the Pro Bowl players you will fly down there and they just fly back that day?)
“I don’t know that they fly them back. I think they plan to keep them down there that evening. They haven’t even told us yet what this is all about. We don’t even have any details or anything like that. Maybe they will call us Friday and tell us. In any event, the fact of the matter is that we’re thinking that they’re down there Sunday night and they will meet us Monday, which is a hell of a thing isn’t it? It sends a great message to all the young people out there and all the coaches that talk teamwork that you take your best seven players and split them up from your team at the ultimate moment in sports.”
You can’t argue with Polian. A black cloud has been cast over a seemingly enjoyable event because of its bad scheduling. With the Super Bowl coming up, neither the Colts or the New Orleans Saints should be worrying this much about the coordination of their players’ flights.
NFL Week 9 MVP Power Rankings
Posted by Mike Farley (11/15/2009 @ 7:00 am)

With Drew Brees and Peyton Manning leading their teams to victory again, barely, there is no good reason to drop them in the rankings here. Meanwhile, Brett Favre and Jared Allen did not play, so we held spots for them, but moved Cedric Benson up based on a second 100-yard rushing performance against the Ravens.
1. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints—Halfway through the season, Brees and his Saints are 8-0 and have a three game lead in their division. Suffice to say, this team appears to be headed toward a first round bye, and their QB is one of the biggest reasons.
2. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts—After a subpar start to 2008 after knee surgery, Manning wanted to get off to a fast start this season, and he has done just that. But what might be more impressive is that after Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark, he’s throwing to guys named Garcon and Collie.
3. Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals—He rushed for 120 yards against the Ravens in Week 5, and 117 yards against them in Week 9. Read that back. That’s two 100 yard games against the Baltimore Ravens, and that’s just sick.
4. Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings—The old man still has it, much to the dismay of everyone in Northern Wisconsin. You think Ted Thompson is sleeping well lately?
5. Jared Allen, Minnesota Vikings—He’s had two weeks to rest those wheels that never seem to stop moving. Next on Allen’s hit list is that poor Stafford kid in Detroit.
Honorable Mention–Elvis Dumervil, Broncos; Andre Johnson, Texans, Tom Brady, Patriots; Adrian Peterson, Vikings; Maurice Jones-Drew, Jaguars, Chris Johnson, Titans; Reggie Wayne, Colts; Michael Turner, Falcons; Reggie Wayne, Colts; Steve Smith, Giants

NFL Week 7 MVP Power Rankings

A few changes in the works…we’ve eliminated all New York Giants now from contention until they get their act together again. Well, IF they get their act together again. Drew Brees is an animal, and Cedric Benson and Matt Schaub have also entered the Top 5…..
1. Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints—Now Brees has a thrilling comeback to add to his 2009 resume, and coming back from down by 21 on the road was enough to vault him into first here over Peyton Manning, who was good but not great in beating the Rams.
2. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts—Can Manning do what Brees did? We’re not sure, and that’s the only reason we have him sitting a notch below the Saints’ QB this week.
3. Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals—He climbed over Adrian Peterson again, this time stunning his former team with a career high 189 yards. And let’s not forget his former team is the defense-minded Bears.
4. Matt Schaub, Houston Texans—He leads the league in TD passes with 16, and he has the Texans playing out of their minds at the moment. If the team had a few more wins, he’d be ranked even higher here.
5. Jared Allen, Minnesota Vikings—Allen was mostly held in check by the Steelers, but we’ll let that slide. I’d hate to be Aaron Rodgers this weekend.
Honorable Mention–Elvis Dumervil, Broncos; Andre Johnson, Texans, Tom Brady, Patriots; Brett Favre, Vikings; Adrian Peterson, Vikings; Vernon Davis, 49ers

Jonathan Papelbon blows it in the ninth
Posted by Gerardo Orlando (10/11/2009 @ 7:45 pm)
The Boston Red Sox had knocked the Angels out of the playoffs in their previous four meeting, and Jonathan Papelbon had not given up an earned run in 26 postseason innings. So Red Sox fans must have felt confident with Papelbon entering game 3 in the ninth inning with a lead over the Angels. But this time, Papelbon and the Red Sox came up short, as Vladimir Guerrero came up with the big hit to drive in two runs, sending Papelbon to the showers and ultimately sending the Red Sox home for the winter. As Papelbon was walking off the field, he heard a chorus of boos from the classless Red Sox fans.
