Who’s leaving Manchester City?

It is still early days in the Premier League offseason, but rumblings of departures are already being heard on the blue side of Manchester.

One player that has left is captain Vincent Kompany. The Belgian finished off a fine 11-year career at Manchester City by lifting the FA Cup in his final game. Kompany played just 17 games in the Premier League but was called upon down the stretch when Guardiola needed his most trusted players to come through in big moments.
Kompany did just that by scoring a wonder goal against Leicester City to keep their title hopes alive. He has now moved on to be player-manager of Anderlecht.

Forward Leroy Sane looks likely to join Kompany out the door. Sane was an important player for Manchester City early in the season yet fell down the pecking order in the team by May. Guardiola spent many games shouting at Sane from the touchline for his poor play. In addition, Sane has been said to have an attitude problem for some time.

Guardiola may be fed up with the German as reports indicate Sane could join Bayern Munich. The Germans are in need of fleet-footed forwards following the departures of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.

Who’s arriving at Manchester City?

Guardiola is desperate to sign defensive midfielder Rodrigo Hernandez Cascante, aka Rodri. The midfielder only joined Atletico Madrid last summer but is linked with a move away in a cash-plus player deal.

Manchester City have offered up striker Gabriel Jesus to Atletico Madrid to land Rodri. The Spanish midfielder would be the long-term replacement for the ageing Fernandinho. Yet, Atletico Madrid may not agree to a move.
