Will NBA offseason moves take away Golden State Warriors’ dominance in the Association?

The NBA offseason has seen plenty of trades and free agent moves. Of course, the biggest of them all was LeBron James once again trading in the Cleveland Cavaliers for another team. His team of choice this time was the Los Angeles Lakers; and overnight, the team became one of the top contenders for the 2018-19 NBA Championship. All eyes are now on whether James can lead the Lakers to the NBA Finals, and Michigan Sports Betting gives fans the chance to follow every jump shot, slam dunk, and block.

With James moving to La-La Land, the Golden State Warriors’ dominance of the NBA could be up. If there is a team to upset the Warriors’ in the Western Conference, which team could it be?

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers now have a formidable roster that will be tough to beat thanks to one simple signing. James makes the Lakers better than they have been in years. Last season, “King” LeBron led the Cavs to a 50-32 record and place in the NBA Finals. The team was awful for much of the season and only reached the finals thanks to James’ individual play. He can do the same for the Lakers, who finished 12 games below .500 and 12 games back of a playoff spot last season.

Houston Rockets

The Houston Rockets were the best team in the Association last season. Yet, the cruelty of the playoff system meant Houston was beaten in the postseason by the Warriors. The Rockets re-signed Chris Paul and added Michael Carter-Williams to the fold. The question is whether Carmelo Anthony has anything left in the tank. The guard is on the downhill slide of his career. If he can transition into a role player, Houston can be the best in the NBA again.

Boston Celtics

Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward were supposed to propel the Boston Celtics to the top of the NBA Eastern Conference. Neither could stay healthy to see the team into the playoffs. The Celtics’ postseason run was due to the success of Al Horford, Jayson Tatum, and Terry Rozier. The Celtics should be better this season with both Irving and Hayward healthy and the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers were a young and exciting team a season ago. Joel Embiid, J.J. Reddick, and Ben Simmons are still in the City of Brotherly Love, and they will be joined by Amir Johnson and Demetrius Jackson. Philadelphia doesn’t look any stronger than it did last season, but it will definitely be one of the best teams in the NBA Eastern Conference.

Golden State Warriors

Okay, it is difficult to overlook the reigning NBA Champions. The Warriors are sportsbooks’ favourites to win the title once more. Golden State has won three of the last four NBA Championships and it keeps getting stronger on the court. DeMarcus Cousins has arrived from the New Orleans Pelicans and will give the Warriors more depth in the paint. Due to Golden State’s dominance, it is really difficult to believe another team will knock it off this season.
