Dortmund, Liverpool lead 25/1 in the Europe League

This week we are witnessing some great games thanks to Dortmund, Liverpool in the Europe League. We will be able to enjoy the game Liverpool v United and Dortmund v Spurs among the action, thanks to the return of the Europe League on TV on on Thursday night and two of England’s most teams will battle and try to do their very best in Europe’s second major club competition.

In previous years, the Europe League has had its fair share of criticism but the added incentive of guaranteed Champions League football for the winner has helped to transform the tournament from a not so much followed competition into an opportunity for betting odds.

Just look at some of this week betting odds and you realize immediately the great opportunities ahead:

There is no doubt, Borussia Dortmund are the favorites to win the Europe League this season – and with good reason, this team is on fire. The Bundesliga side have improved considerably after a disjointed 2014-15 campaign and the likes of Marco Reus, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang Ilkay Gundogen are firing ahead.

Tottenham are also fairing quite well, although they have suffered a minor deep over the last ten days. Spurs fell to West Ham United before letting a 2-1 lead slip against 10-man Arsenal in the north London derby last weekend. It goes without saying that this will be a tough game to call but both teams to score and a Dortmund victory looks a good price at 9/4 according to 888sport betting odds.

Shakhtar Donetsk are strong at home it would be expected that the Ukrainian side will get the job done in front of a hostile crowd at the Arena Lviv. To take into consideration their loss against Brazil international Alex Teixeira during the January transfer window, Shakhtar should still have enough in him to beat the Belgian team – let’s remember the ten goals in their past three competitive games that he scored!

Anderlecht are not to be completely dismissed. Besnik Hasi’s men have shown their fighting spirit throughout the Europe League campaign, earning important victories: Monaco and Olympiacos – two difficult away fixtures. Unfortunately, it’s hard to look past a fresh Shakhtar side and the Ukraine side are well priced at 13/20 at 888sport considering their imposing home record in Europe.

Manchester United in Anfield will face Liverpool in the first ever European clash between these two major sides. Since losing the Capital One Cup final, Liverpool have reacted well – beating Manchester City 3-0 and securing a last-gasp winner over Crystal. In view of the recent losses Van Gaal’s men are just too inconsistent right now whilst Liverpool (21/20) continue to improve under Jurgen Klopp.

Villarreal produced the performance and got Napoli out of the competition in the last round and they will need to be at their best to beat Bayer Leverkusen as well. Bayer Leverkusen stand a good chance of upsetting Villarreal over two legs but might find it tricky to cope with the intense atmosphere in the Estadio El Madrigal. The Germans are well organized and they may be able to sneak a goal, but still it is hard to imagine Bayer emerging from this game with a lead the betting odds in 888sport looks a great bet at 26/25.
