Thanks John… I was thinking the same about Cassel. But here’s my dilemma: I have Bowe at WR and Moeaki at TE, again because the matchup is so good. With Cassel at QB, do you think that’s putting too many of my eggs in one basket? Or am I just overthinking it and should I just be happy to have such a great matchup for 3 of my 9 starters?? Reason I ask is that someone recently offered Roethlisberger asking for Mendenhall and I laughed him out of the room. I offered Torain in return (seeing as how said guy drafted Roethlisberger in the 12th round) and he walked away. I admit I was low-balling him but RASHARD MENDENHALL? That just seems outrageous.

I was not necessarily going after a QB but considering I’m rolling with McNabb and Vick right now, Roethlisberger almost looks like a good idea. I’m simply against giving him that much for Roethlisberger when his QB1 is Aaron Rodgers and he sniped Roethlisberger in the final minutes of the draft.

But in answer to your question, I have Fitzpatrick, McCoy, Freeman, Shaun Hill, Hene, Alex Smith, Kolb, Bradford, Garrard, Cassel, etc. (Only reason I’m not picking up Kolb is because I don’t have room for 3 QBs and Kolb has the same bye week as Vick next week.)
I know it’s a bit off but I need a QB for a week 10 bye. Would you recommend picking up someone with a good matchup for that week now, or wait for that weeks waiver wire (ie if these guys are pretty close to each other then waiting works fine)?
The match-ups that look good to me right now are Hasselbeck, Cassel, Fitzpatrick, Bradford, Freeman, and Stafford. I can see Stafford getting picked up by someone when he returns from his injury.
(8 starters and 7 bench in my league) I’m moving to DTBWW so I’ll potentially have a roster spot.

I just picked up Danny woodhead on waivers. I was then offered a trade for woodhead. Johnathan Stewart for Woodhead. What do you think? Also I have Clark and the jags te. I believe it’s Lewis. Should I pick up another?
I’m desperate at RB (Gore, Ivory, Reggie Bush, Woodhead, Tolbert, MBIII) and somebody just dropped Law Firm (BGE) and with the news that Addai is likely out for several weeks I feel I have to pick up one if not both. With my WRs being Megatron, Boldin, Ward, Royal and Britt I have been playing a bunch of WRs in a standard scoring league that starts 2 RB, 3 WR, and 2 flex players. Would you drop anybody for BGE or Donald Brown?

Last week I had asked you a trade question. I have an offer to give up Felex Jones and Steve Smith (NYG) to get MJD. You had said that I should accept the offer.
But after I saw MJD this week on primetime struggling with 8 stacked up in the box against him and with QB uncertainty with the Jaguars, all teams will do the same…and with Jacksonville trailing most of the times like in MNF, he doesnt get enough carries many times.
Looks like the other owner is thinking the same and wants to offload MJD bad. So he has sweetened the deal by offering the banged up but to be back Steve Smith(Car) along with MJD.
What should I do now?

Someone bit on a Larry Fitzgerald offer, which is great for me, since I am a little weak at WR (both Mosses, Hines Ward, Marques Colston, Mike Williams, Roy Williams — no guaranteed week-to-week studs in that list).

With the emergence of Danny Woodhead, is he more of an upside than Benjarvus Green-Ellis going forward? I currently own Benji but I’m worried his production is going to be limited with Fred Taylor coming back in. Is woodhead a viable pickup?
Second, I picked up Deon Branch and Mike Williams (Sea) this week.There are two receivers that I’m currently on the fence of dropping or keeping. Dez Bryant and Davone Bess…two W/R on my watchlist consist of Danario Alexaner and Brandon Pettigrew. Should i stay with what i have or pull the trigger on DA and BP.

In your ranking, you have Benson rank #14 and C.Ivory rank #23, Cincy is away, NO is home. Falcon’s rushing D rank #9, Cleveland rushing D rank #23… why do you have C.Ivory rank much lower? Is it because you anticipate Bree will pass a lot, where as Cincy will stick with the running game because of Palmer’s inconsistence?
Based on your ranking, I should start M.William (TB) and D.Bowe and bench G.Jennings. From a passing D stand point, Minn rank higher than Rams and Jac… but I have T.Moeaki as my TE already… am I putting too many eggs on 1 basket? Just concern about Cassel…

JP, thanks in advance for any advice. I’ve gone over the following over and over and can’t decide who to start at the RB, WR, and flex option(Start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 flex):
RBs: Rice, Lynch, Felix, Mathews, Woodhead.
WRs: Colston, Wallace, Branch.
Currently I’ve settled on:
RB: Rice, Lynch, Mathews.
WR: Wallace, Woodhead?(RB/WR option)
Flex: Mathews.
Colston has been unreliable thus far, and so has Mathews, so I’ve been leaning toward F. Jones.
Any thoughts?

i’ve got foster, best, felix jones, ronnie brown and chris ivory as my rbs along with woodhead. im wondering though if the strange quirks in my league(its PPR but 20 receiving yards per point vs 10 rushing yards per point and starting 4 wrs to only 2 rbs) plus the fact the woodhead has rb/wr eligiblity. considering all this would you hang on to woodhead instead of picking up smith 1.0? my only other option would be to drop meachem but i just have a feeling he’s set for a big second half of the season. thoughts?

I had D. Clark and Collie. I’m trying to figure out the best course of action. Gonzalez is still available in my league, do I scoop him up or Tamme? Watson and Moeaki are the top TE’s on the wire. I have Lewis as Clark’s backup but not sure if I need to invest elsewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
John, would you start kc’s defense over chicago’s this week? Who is a better kicker to pick up off waiver between jeff reed and robbie gould and possibly for the long haul? What do you think about benjamin watson? Can he keep it up for the rest of the year and is he a better option than chris cooley?
