Line of the Night (1/12): Tim Duncan
Tim Duncan led the Spurs to a 105-85 win over the shorthanded Lakers, posting 25 points (on 12 of 19 shooting), 13 rebounds, four assists, four blocked shots and two steals. Kobe Bryant left the game in the second half with what was described as “severe back spasms.”

That was your line of the night when Baron Davis triple doubled with 27/12/12 incl a bonus 5 steals and a block straddling a power outage at the FedEx Forum?
Hard night of lines to choose from. Then there’s D12 with a 30 point 16 rebound night with 5 assists 3 steals and 3 blocks to go along. Not to mention Stephen Jackson’s explosion.
You’re welcome to do your LOTN posts the way you want to. I like to look for big lines in big games, and the Spurs win over the Lakers was bigger than the Clippers losing to Memphis or Orlando beating a mediocre Kings team.
John, quit being such a whiner. You’re always whining and being confrontational. I’m always having to whip out the violin and I haven’t really played consistently since 2nd grade.
Anyway, I’m just trying to help pick up the slack and fuel discussion by adding my 2 cents on other great lines. Now that I know it’s Line/Game Combo of the Night I won’t comment anymore (reducing the total daily reply posts by about 68%).
I’m not sure how you get whiner or confrontational out of my reply, but that’s your prerogative. 95% of your comments are insults, criticisms or backhanded compliments, so if you were to leave and never come back, I think we’d all be 68% happier.
Really? Who wants to have a blog with no comments? Just take the comments off, or create some type of security code that identifies whether the comment is going to effuse praise for your writing so you can automatically shut down those that don’t. Is that what you want?
Anyway, this is just harmless needling. At least 1 out of every 7 of my posts contains some information, opinion, or statistic. Imagine if you had enough page views that the comments’ sections got swarmed by insult-hurling homers. I mean, really, your skin is thinner than Gary Parrish’s.
I said “just kidding.” Geez, take it easy on the coffee, Doctor.
Marc Gasol also had a pretty good line with 24 pts 15 boards 2 blocks and 2 steals.
Dr.: I have to agree with John’s LOTN… Hearing about the Spurs and Lakers is alot more exciting than hearing about my poor Memphis boys… Great mentions though, espically the B. Davis performance…
