Your’s is wrong too. Switch SD & I. Switch NO & M. Then get rid of all the asterisks and notes at the bottom. I can’t find a correct one either- don’t understand why this is so difficult.
Dale R — Mine is correct. Indy will play the worst seed remaining after the first round, which will be the winner of the 4/5 game (unless Baltimore wins).
The same goes for New Orleans, who will play the 4/5 winner unless Philly wins.
Since the NFL reseeds the games after the first round, it really isn’t a true bracket. The bracket I put together assumes that the #6 seeds will lose. There’s no way to do it without footnotes.
Dale – John’s is right. I’m not sure what makes you believe it isn’t, but that’s the correct format.
Question:
If the lower seeds win, then the lower seed move to the coresponding high seed on the John’s bracket, Right?
Right, if either #6 seed wins, then they’ll go on to face the #1 seed in the conference. Otherwise the #3 seed will play the #2 seed and the 4/5 winner will play #1.
John:
Thanks for this. Why is the NFL unable to put this out there? Anyway, thanks again.
You’re welcome. I don’t think they put out a bracket because it’s not really a bracket (since they re-seed after the first round). They probably figure the general public can’t handle footnotes like the ones I put in my bracket.
They may as well retain the original seedings throughout the playoffs rather than “reseed”, since the resulting matchups would remain the same. (#1 bye team hosts lowest surviving seed of round one, etc.)
Thanks for posting your bracket along with the footnotes. Although I have understood how the NFL playoffs work for several years, I have a lot of friends who see the brackets shown without footnotes, which leads them to mistakes in figuring out the possible matchups as the playoffs progress. Your illustration will be a great help to me in showing them how the playoffs work.
John, thanks a lot for this. You wouldn’t think something this precise (including game times and networks!)would be so hard to find but it is. I’m glad I found it (after much searching)and it’s really appreciated.
Good luck to you in all you do.
WHO EVER PUT THIS BRACKET UP JUST STRAIGHT DREAMING THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN,CAUSE THERE NO WHERE NEAR THIS……. STRAIGHT HOMO…LOL… GO BEARS……
Hey genius – this is last year’s bracket. John even posts a link at the top taking you to this year’s bracket.
Bear fans everywhere just collectively wept that one of their own could be this big of a moron.
Wow… just… wow.
I’m going to give Roscoe the benefit of the doubt and say that he was drunk off his ass when he wrote that.
