Please yankee guy - you are in a different atmosphere....... you have lead the League in stupid salaries for 36 years. There are about six teams in large markest - the yankees are in a different universe than them. You have the most resources and finances by far.Mets,Chicago's,L.A.'s,Phila,Boston etc. Are able to pop an allstar here and there - You get anybody you really want ALL the time. Not even close.
We understand you don't like your rival's from Boston - fine. But don't think we are the same...
Remember: There is only one "Evil Empire" and thats your team.

Let me get this straight...the Redsox stole Bay from the Pirates for a few non-impact minor leaguers, because the Redsox had the cash to pay the contract the Pirates signed but couldn't afford. That's ok...but if the Yankees decide to bid on Bay and get him, they've ruined baseball.

So it's only ok when the Redox play moneyball but not the Yankees? The only difference between the two scenarios is one deal is via trade, the other is via free agency. But in both situations, one team decided they couldn't afford player but another could. It's the same game, but only bad when the Yankees play it?

The Red Sox will make a good, fair offer to Bay.He wants to be there, and they want him. But like the writer says - if the yankees want him - they will get him or at least screw with Boston to drive the price up and make Boston or some other team overpay. Same ole story. It's up to the agent and the yankees. Whether you are a free agent or your from Cuba the yankees have the last say.
