I have Slaton (@ TEN), McCoy (vs NO), L. White (vs HOU), L. Washington (vs. NE), Sproles (vs BAL), and M. Bell (@ PHI). I need to start two of them.
If Tomlinson doesn’t play, would you start Sproles vs. Baltimore as one of them?
Yes, even though it’s a tough matchup. I’d rank them Slaton, Sproles (if LT doesn’t play), Washington, Bell (if Pierre does play), White and McCoy.
JP,
I have the following on my roster
WR: D.Henderson
RB: C.Williams, T.Jones, P.Thomas, LenDale
The following are still available on waivers. How do you rate them and are there anyone on my roster worth dropping for? Thanks!
RB: F.Jackson, C.Benson, M.Bell, J.Lewis, R.Williams, M.Bush, L.Mclain, R.Bush, A.Bradshaw,
WR: M.Clayton(Bal), J.Gage, Randle El, Stuckey, Burleson, M.Clayton(TB), L.Robinson, I.Bruce
Hard to cut Henderson after the week he had, but he’s pretty inconsistent for my taste. I think I’d rather have Benson and Bell than LenDale. It sounds like Pierre and Bell might split carries, so it would be nice to have both. Benson looks like the feature back in Cincy and was productive on Sunday. If this is a non-PPR league I’d go with Benson and Bell over LenDale. Bush deserves some consideration in PPR leagues.
I have forte c johnson fred jackson mcfadden and ronnie brown. Which 3 running backs should i start? I’m thinking johnson mcfadden and jackson
I have Andre Johnson and Ryan Grant and i was offered this trade for them two Chris Johnson and Roddy White, should I make this trade?
My other WR are Fitzgerald and Wayne, other starting RB is Brandon Jacobs, with Pierre Thomas as backup
should i drop james davis or donald brown for michael bush? PPR league.
JP, I have Delhomme as my back-up QB, after the first week, would you cut him for any of the QB below,
Shaun Hill, Jason Campbell or Vick?
My WRs, I have DeSean Jackson and B.Berrian, would you drop any of them and pick up any of the WR below,
B.Marshall, J.Gage, N.Burleson, Chris Henry, S.Smith (Giant), B.Stokley, K.Walter, T.Ginn Jr., K.Britt, Chansi Stuckey and L.Robinson.
any concern with DeSean Jackson this week knowing McNabb is out? Should I sit him and play any of the above?
My RBs, I have Frank Gore, Tim Hightower, Derrick Ward, would you drop any of them and replace by any of the ones below?
M.Bell, B.Wells, C.Benson, M.Bush, F.Taylor, K.Faulk, G.Coffee, L.Johnson, J.Lewis, C.Buckhalter.
I only have 3 bench player spots. We only play 1WR, 1RB and 1 flex. Receiving yards get more point. 5 receiving yard = 1 point, vs. 7 rushing yard.
Thanks JP!
JP, on the back-up QB option, Carson Palmer is available too.
My first QB is A.Rodger.
Non PPR
Pick 1
1. Kurt warner
2. Brett Favre
Pick 2
1. Steve Slaton
2. Brandon Jacobs
3. Cedric Benson
4. Tim Hightower
Pick 3
1. Steve Smith (car)
2. T.O
3. Roddy White
4. Santonio Holmes
5. Roy Williams
Thank you
Before I ask, thanks for helping me win my first year playing fantasy last year. YOU ARE THE MAN!
Ok, now what should I do this week?
Cutler
Rothlisberger
Fitzgerald
S. Smith (panthers)
Santana Moss
Donnie Avery
Lendale White
Thomas Jones
Fred Jackson
Cedric Benson
Jeremy Shockey
Anthony Fasano
Also, I’m thinking of picking up one or two of these guys and are all available in my league. Who do you think will be the biggest asset?
Devery Henderson
Mark Clayton
Patrick Crayton
Tim Hightower
Carnell Williams
Ray Rice
Fred Taylor
Thanks John
I already have S.Jackson, M.Bell, P.Thomas,M.Lynch…Would it be worth it if I grabbed Sproles of the waiver wire and dropped any of the RBs mentioned above? And how about a good DEF,I have Chicago but Urlacher is down.Any suggestions?
Lots to get to…
alex — Johnson and McFadden are pretty much must-starts given the solid matchups, so it’s down to Jackson vs. Brown. I’d go with Ronnie because he has a good matchup against an Indy defense that has historically struggled to stop the run, but it’s totally understandable if you want to go with Jackson, who played very well against NE. Go with your gut.
Russ — is this a PPR league? If so, I’d definitely make the trade. If not, it’s closer, but I’d still pull the trigger.
Rick — Davis doesn’t look like he’s going to take over in CLE just yet, but they might have been watching his snaps because he was in a car accident the day before. I’d hold onto Brown because Addai is fragile and the Colts’ RB is usually productive. If you need value right now, I’d grab Bush for Davis, but if you can stash him, Davis probably has more upside over the course of 2009.
Scorpion — I love Shaun Hill as a sleeper and I’d take Campbell over Delhomme right now as well. Carson Palmer is interesting. I guess I’d take him over Hill.
I’d dump Berrian for Marshall. If you’re worried about Jackson (and you have some reason to be), you could start Marshall.
I’d rather have Benson than Hightower.
Ya Boy — hard to bench Warner but Favre has the Lions. That’s a great matchup. At RB, I’d go with your studs, slaton and jacobs. At WR, that’s a tough call — I guess I’d go with Holmes, T.O. and Roddy. Tough to bench Smith, but there are so many questions at QB. The Giants shut down S. Moss, so I don’t know how much success Roy will have.
Randy — I need to know your starting requirements and whether or not this is a PPR. But first, RUN, don’t walk to your WW and grab Ray Rice. You can cut Fasano or LenDale (preferably Fasano).
Kaya — It would be great to grab Sproles, but I don’t know who to cut. I guess I’d stand pat. For defense, check out my DTBWW (If the Packers are available, grab them first).
Do you think Matt Cassel will live up to the hype this year..He’s on my waiver wire but is he worth picking up. I already have McNabb and Eli…If so, who would you drop
Hey Paul, this is a PPR league, but only .2 pts compared to TDS which count 6pts. I picked up Ray Rice, anyone else I should grab.
Now that you this is PPR, who should I start?
Thanks
Da Kid – I like Cassel, but I wouldn’t cut McNabb or Eli for him.
Randy — how many starters for each position?
Thanks JP! I have picked up Palmer and Marshall and dropped Delhomme and Berrian. But unfortunately Benson got picked up.
So, would you drop Hightower and D.Ward for any of these guys, should I drop them for WRs like J.Gage or C.Henry?
M.Bell, B.Wells, M.Bush, F.Taylor, K.Faulk, G.Coffee, L.Johnson, J.Lewis, C.Buckhalter.
JP,
What would you do with my WR scenerio. Given that Henderson is inconsistent, its hard to give him up with the Saints pass happy offense. The following are available in my league.
WR: M.Clayton(Bal), J.Gage, Randle El, Stuckey, Burleson, M.Clayton(TB), L.Robinson, I.Bruce
thanks!
JP,
Here is my roster. Any recommendations on who you would start?
QB:P.Manning, Warner
RB: Cad.Williams, T.Jones, P.Thomas, Bell
Thanks!
colsotn or roy williams at wr this week??
These are the starting positions
QB, 2 WR, 2 RB, TE, W/R
and here was my previous post so you don’t have to scroll back up and find it….
Ok, now what should I do this week?
Cutler
Rothlisberger
Fitzgerald
S. Smith (panthers)
Santana Moss
Donnie Avery
Lendale White
Thomas Jones
Fred Jackson
Cedric Benson
Jeremy Shockey
Anthony Fasano
Also, I’m thinking of picking up one or two of these guys and are all available in my league. Who do you think will be the biggest asset?
Devery Henderson
Mark Clayton
Patrick Crayton
Tim Hightower
Carnell Williams
Ray Rice
Fred Taylor
Thanks John
Hi JP,
Like reading your site.
For week 2:
Kurt Warner (stinger) or Eli Manning?
Ray Rice or Fred Jackson?
Dallas Clark or Kevin Boss?
Appreciate your input.
Scorpion – I think I’d hold onto Ward for now.
Texas – I’d rather have Gage, Clayton (BAL), Burleson and Robinson than Henderson. He’s just too inconsistent and the Saints aren’t going to play the Lions every week.
Alex – The Giants smothered S. Moss, so I’d stay away from Roy this week.
Randy - QB is tough, but I’d go with Big Ben who looked good on Thursday. At WR, Fitz and S. Smith. At RB, you have Rice right? I’d start Jackson, TJ and Rice as your flex. Shockey at TE.
Bolt Power – I’d go with Warner unless bad reports come out about his arm. At RB, Jackson is probably the better play. At TE, D. Clark for sure.
Hi JP,
First and Foremost…I am forever endebited to you, I place in 3rd place last year b/c of your help!! MUCH GRACIAS…you have great Karma going for you,,when you continue to help all of us.
So here is my deliema:
I currently have Chris Chambers, 4 of the Waiver Wire. I am not in a PPR league. Should I drop Chris Chambers for Braylon Edwards?
Thanks,
Raj
Thanks JP, so if I keep Ward, what about Hightower, would you drop Hightower for any of these guys, WRs – J.Gage or C.Henry?
RBs – M.Bell, B.Wells, M.Bush, F.Taylor, K.Faulk, G.Coffee, L.Johnson, J.Lewis, C.Buckhalter?
WRs – J.Gage or C.Henry?
Sorry, not only C.Benson is gone, M.Bell is gone too.
Raj — Absolutely. Braylon is far better than Chris Chambers.
Scorpion — I’d probably hold onto Hightower right now. There seems to be more out there at WR than at RB, so it’s good to hold onto your solid RBs.
Scorpion — If you’re only starting one RB per week, you might want to dump Hightower for Coffee so that you have the SF running game locked up. This assumes that Ward has a different bye than Gore (I’m not sure).
What do you think of this trade? I have Eli Manning for either Steve Smith, Antonio Bryant, or NYG Defense. Im pretty stocked at QB position,I also have Brees & McNabb. But need a solid #3 receiver….I already have Colston,Chad, and Lee Evans…What would you suggest?
who would you start Bell,P.Thomas or Sproles this week
Kaya — I assume that you’re talking about the NYG Steve Smith, not the CAR Steve Smith. If it’s the latter I’d jump on it immediately. A. Bryant is iffy for this week, but you could roll the dice there and hope that he can get healthy soon. Knee injuries are tricky. I’d probably sit tight since McNabb is out. If Bryant’s knee comes around, it would be a good trade.
Da Kid – If LT doesn’t play, then I like Sproles this week, especially in PPR leagues. If LT does play and Pierre doesn’t, then I like Bell.
My roster includes Romo, Eli Manning, Greg Jennings, Santana Moss, Derrick Mason, Kevin Walter, Matt Forte, Thomas Jones, Darren McFadden, Jonathan Stewart, Lesean McCoy, Owen Daniels,Jets DST and Redskins DST. I;m going with Romo, Jennings, Moss, Forte, Jones, McFadden, Daniels, Redskins DST. I’m torn about Moss as Mason is projected to do better in my league. What do you think about Moss or Mason? Jets or skins DST? Should I stick with Owen Daniels or look for someone els. Any suggestions ?
My league is a PPR 10 team flex league.
Thanks,
Ken
who is better this week forte brown or jackson for the flex
Ken – I prefer Moss this week but it’s close. I think he will have a bounce back game against a very sketchy Rams defense. Owen Daniels is a very solid TE, I wouldn’t cut him.
Alex — Are you talking about Steven Jackson? What kind of league is it?
JP,
Here is my roster. Any recommendations on who you would start?
QB:P.Manning, Warner
RB: Cad.Williams, T.Jones, P.Thomas, Bell
Thanks!
Texas – Peyton at QB. Always. At RB, it’s hard to sit TJ given his production. After that, I like Bell if Pierre doesn’t play. If Pierre does play, then I’d go with Caddy as my RB2.
JP,
I have Michael Turner and Brian Westbrook as my RBs, and Fred Jackson on the bench. Everybody is going crazy for Jackson this week, but I don’t like the idea of benching Westbrook. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
JP
Gotta thanks u first of all. Took the trophy last year in my league! Anyway, I have 2rb slots with flex position. I have the following:
chris johnson
knowshon moreno
mike bell
reggie bush
which 2 would you start? thanks man
JP
witch 3 RB should i start: Chris johnson, deangelo williams, donald brown, jerious norwood, jmal lewis, or mike bell
At WR i have: TJ houzmanzadea, lee evans, derrick mason, kenny britt, and louis murphy witch 3 should i start ?
Thnx
Thanks for all your help last year; won my league.
Non-PPR league (but 1 pt/20 return yards); need help with 1-QB 2-WR 1-TE 1-WR/TE.
Have:
QB: Rivers & Edwards
WR: TO, Roy Williams, Holmes, Hester, Burleson
TE: Heap & Zach Miller
I’m having a hard time deciding on which QB will do better – please help – figure I will start TO & Holmes at WR but don’t know about TE and W/T flex position (leaning towards Hester but can’t decide).
Also can pick up Hank Baskett if I drop a player above – how do you think he will do in Indy.
Thanks again.
I need some help here…I have Steven Jackson,Mike Bell,D Sproles and not sure which two to start at RB this week..
Oh yeah, Do you think WR Steve Smith NYG is worth having over Smith of CAR?
Isaac — Bench Westy against the Saints? Don’t do it, brother!
Stewart — Congrats on the title. C. Johnson should be in all fantasy lineups this week. After that, it’s kind of tough. I’d probably go with Bell if Pierre Thomas sits. He has a tough matchup, but he’s guaranteed a lot of work, and Moreno isn’t. If this is a PPR league then Bush would be a solid start as well.
Alex — CJ, DW and MB. Housh, Evans and probably Mason at WR. I like both Murphy and Britt too. Tough call, but Mason is most dependable.
RJR — Congrats on the title. SD won’t be able to run on BAL (probably), so they’ll have to throw, and Brodie Croyle had success last week. I’d go with Rivers. At WR, I’d go with Owens, Holmes and Burleson as your flex. And then Z. Miller at TE. (There was an erroneous injury report floating around, he’s fine.)
kaya — PPR league? If so Sproles over Bell. If not, the other way around. Start Jackson for sure. I’m taking CAR S. Smith this week. Too much upside to pass up.
Hopefully you answer this…I have two options:
Drop Kevin Walter or Chris Chambers for Braylon Edwards?
Which One would you do?
Assuming Pierre Thomas doesn’t play, which two RB’s should I start? Mike Bell, Correll Buckhalter or Chris Wells?
A couple of names sitting there is free agents that caught my eye were Laurence Maroney, Michael Bush and Mewelde Moore but I don’t know if any of them are any better options than the guys I have at this point.
Also, Joe Flacco or Trent Edwards?
Who do you think I should drop on my team and who should I consider picking up.Its a PPR league, and my WR and RB situation is up in the air. I have:
Antonio Bryant, Pierre Thomas, McFadden, Turner, Slaton, Roddy White, Berrian, Dwayne Bowe, Hines Ward and Derrick Mason.I should hold onto Roddy White, Turner and Slaton and probably Ward. What do I do with the others.
Waiver Wire available are Reggie Bush, Fred Jackson, Jamal Lewis, Justin Gage, Burelson, Randle El, Todd heap and Dustin Keller to name a few. All recommendations would be great!
Im trading Eli for either Steve Smith CAR,F.Gore,or Antonio Bryant… What do yo suggest?
Raj — I prefer Walter to Chambers, so I’d cut Chambers for Braylon.
Mike — Definitely start Bell; he will get a lot of work and should get a few goal line carries. At the other RB slot, I’d start Buckhalter in a PPR league and Wells in a std league. I think Michael Bush has the most opportunity to explode if McFadden were to go down. Depending on how DEN splits the carries between Buckhalter and Moreno this week, you could pick him up next week.
Nick — I’d definitely roster Bush in a PPR league. I guess Bryant is the most expendable right now given your depth at WR and his knee injury. But maybe you meant Michael Bush, I don’t know. I definitely wouldn’t cut Bowe, McFadden or Pierre either. I think Mason and Berrian are worth holding onto given the guys you listed on the waiver wire.
Kaya — Gore is the most valuable, then S. Smith. I wouldn’t trade for A. Bryant right now unless you can get him for really cheap. Gore vs. Smith depends on who you have on your roster, but Gore holds more value.
JP, this week – WR = DeSean Jackson or Brandon Marshall Who would you start?
Derrick Ward or Tim Hightower, who would you start?
Scorpion — I prefer Ward and DeSean this week.
who would you play, M. bell or Sproles this week
who would you keep Eli or Mcnabb.I already have Brees
Should I play CHI def against PITT or stay with ATL over Carolina?
Da Kid — I’d go with Sproles.
Kaya — I’d hold onto McNabb. I like ATL this week.
Hey John,
1) Steven Jackson or Ronnie Brown
2) Tom Brady or Brett Favre
Thanks!!
Hey quick question again: Based off my last comment:
I meant Reggie bush. A guy in my league dropped reggie just before sundays games. I have pierre, but I figure with bell now injured and pierre uncertain it would be a great pickup. But I have to drop someone. Do I drop derrick mason, berrian, A. bryant, or Hines Ward?
Also, I figure I could hold onto Bryant and trade him to someone hopefully decent. Also I was thinking I could drop one of the wr’s I listed and pick up either Steve Smith or Mario Manningham from NYG? Percy Harvin seems to be the main man in Minny and not berrian.

Nick — I’d definitely make room for Bush. I’m not sure who to cut. I think I’d hold onto Ward, but one of the other three could go. Bryant probably has the most upside, but he has the most downside too. I really like both S. Smith and Manningham. Smith especially in PPR leagues. I’d rank him ahead of Mason and Berrian right now. Manningham looked great the last two weeks as well, so I’d probably take him over Mason and Berrian as well. Tough to give up on proven guys for what could be a two-week wonder, but fantasy football is a fickle business.
Yeah, thats what I tried to do; go with proven guys who I know have been consistent. But two weeks in and I’m getting blown out each week, figure I need to make a splash. I like Ward, and will definitaly keep him. Think I’m going to drop berrian and mason and pick up steve smith and reggie. I absolutely have to pick up reggie. Thanks for all the help
