James - good predictions! I'm sticking with with Phillies-Angels in the WS, but I could definitely see your scenario playing out.

Ben - Lee looked great in his debut with the Phils, huh?! He was strong the entire game...

The Dodgers will continue their good fortune all the way into the playoffs behind the mastermind of Joe Torre. The Yankees will once again find a way to arrive one step short of the World Series and the Red Sox will play L.A. in the Fall Classic with home field advantage.More than likely the Dodgers will not be prepared for their attack after they knock off some N.L. teams that barely made it into the postseason. This in turn will create much better ratings for television viewership and Manny will certainly receive the Red Sox boos when he enters Fenway. This will be an intriguing matchup and make the whole season that much better!

Anthony,
i think your right - this puts the phils over the top in the NL. Last year they werent close to being the most well rounded team and they got hot and won it all - with Lee he's gonna eat up innings and protect that bullpen, so i dont see the dodgers or anybody else beating them. who knows though the cards beat the mets in the NL a couple years ago

Ben - I'll probably miss most of these!

I love the Lee deal for the Phillies. You get an ace and not have to give up your top prospect? Wow. I think it's a great deal and it puts them in the driver's seat to win the NL. As I said in this article, I think the Dodgers are going to slump at some point and come up short. I like the Phillies in the NL, especially now with Lee in their rotation.

Who do you like?

anthony,

you missed that #6 prediction a little there. What do you think of the phillies getting Lee! Does this make them the front runners to win it all. (god i hope not)

The Yankees haven't won shit in 8 seasons and the haters bitch about the money they spend with no results. And when they do win again, the haters will bitch that they won because they spend so much. You can't have it both ways. Selig isn't the reason there is no cap because he doesn't run baseball. The union runs the game. What Selig is guilty of being afraid to flex his muscle in fear of another strike. The union knows this and they exploit it every chance they get.
