It's funny though, the Giants can look so bad offensively (i.e. the last two games against the Cardinals) and then they pound the Astros the way they did Friday night. It's maddening. I agree with you that the Giants can't give up top prospects for any bat that could become available this season. I'm actually afraid Sabean would give up a young gun for a rent-a-player and screw up the Giants' future. However, as long as players like Bumgarner, Alderson, Villalona and Posey aren't a part of the deal, I think they might be able to score a bat without giving up one of the future pieces. ZZZ,

Well let me tell you, this team is going to be built to content for a very long time. Because as you can see all the pitch the Giants now have, they will be in the race next year aswell. And seeing as how Holiday\'s contract is up at the end of this year, why trade prospects, when its not a sure thing he will sign back with the Giants next year. Plus his agent will just look for top dollar instead of a team that has a chance of playoff contention. I also think if you get Holiday, you'll have to add a offensive 2nd baseman and someone with more power at 1st base unless Travis can get hot. You\'ve GOT to take a shot and get a difference-maker, otherwise you\'re pissing away a chance at the postseason. The Giants need a run producer and either of these guys would solidify the batting order and take some pressure off Molina.
