Signing Lee will take away from cap space for next season's free agent market, and that is what the Knick management is pointing towards.

Why not sign David Lee for 1 year, and give him $10 million. Aren't we tired of giving up good young talent like Ariza??

This trade for the #2 pick would be the exact thing that the Knicks need for D'Antioni's offense. Ricky Rubio has shown that he is a big man that can run up and down the court (at the Olympics) and play defense. This is one of the many steps needed to return the Knicks to the NBA finals.

While the Lakers may be about ready to win an NBA championship, I think they could really use a tough, inside player like Lee. He may be too much for them in terms of $$$, but it's an avenue they should explore.
