Bay44 - nothing would surprise me in this day and age in baseball, so your theory might not be totally ludicrous.

But someone could easily just as say that the pitcher wanted to bust one in on his hands since A-Rod had been out so long and he missed his location. Seems a little more believable than the O's pitcher was paid to throw a meatball to A-Rod on the first pitch or some other conspiracy theory.

T-Bone,

Is it possible Bud set up a little decoy with the Manny deal when A-Rod came back ? Did that first pitch to A-Roid look like a meatball or what ? How many home runs has he hit since ?
Jeez, if I was out of the game since last season and only looking at minor league junk there is no way I could even consider swinging at the first pitch I saw. I would need to take a pitch, check the velocity. Wouldn't you ? The dude looked like he grooved it for A-Rod to take all the negative spin off of Manny for Bud's League ? Whatta ya think ?

These guys are all idiots who think we are all idiots. Clemens should have learned from A-Hole's situation...why do you think the Yankees created that fake hip injury? To keep him away from the media and stop him from trying to explain himself because he just kept creating more lies about it. Just like they did with Giambi with the mysterious pituitary issue and the intestinal parasite, which was a convenient way to explain the weight loss after getting off the juice.

Too bad for Clemens, he can't come back and hit a home run on the first pitch and have the world forgive him.
