Bay44, I am back. Now that at least 2 of your “clean” redsox have been implicated in PED’s the 04 and 07 championships are tainted.

2.5 months later I am still laughing that you didn’t think Manny was juicing in Boston.

Oh Bay, don’t let this little tidbit get you down. Former Boston Red Sox player and current analyst and reporter for Comcast SportsNet New England, Lou Merloni, claimed last week that Sox management taught players how to use steroids during his tenure with the team.

So far when a PLAYER has come out with steroid allegations they have been 100% correct. Merloni has no reason to lie about such a metting.

I have not heard similar allegations regarding the Yankees. Not to mention the biased report by Mitchell who happens to be a Red sox executive.

Bay, They were illegal to posess there was no law about injesting them or shooting them. Much the same way as it is illegal to posess heroin but not illegal to be high on heroin.

The only law broken was state/federal law not the rules of baseball as they existed prior to 2002. Baseball players used greenies and amphetamines before steriods were available but those were not against the rules of baseball either.

Please don’t be so naive to believe that Manny never used with the red sox. If he did or did not is something he knows and will probably never admit to. IF he did, which is what this article proposes, the red sox world series wins WOULD be tainted.

What happened prior to the rule change has no impact on the world series of 1996,1998,1999, and 2000. As I stated they were not against the rules of baseball, there was no testing and for all we know 90% of players could have been using.

Jimmy – Roids were illegal back then. That IS an issue. Being drunk or violent doesn’t make you a better player – but roids do. Bud was sleeping and so,the yankee gang is so far, proven to be the most tainted team – by a longshot.They didn’t win any championships because their organization isn’t too bright….. but they HAD the most roids. Thats the facts as of today.
Till this point. I don’t know of any dirty Red Sox. I know you are hoping for it … but. Manny is a Dodger. We don’t know what he did in Boston or do you ?

UMMMMMM absolutely not. Steroids were not banned in baseball until 2002. Last I checked the Yankees have not won since 2000. Sure they were illegal to use by statute but not major league baseball.

If were are going to claim anyone who broke the law should have their teams records tainted lets include domestic violence, drunk driving, and all statutes.

The fact is the Yankees have not won a world series since steroids were banned PERIOD. The Sox won 2 with tainted players.
