Great proposal! This has been a long time coming. I suggest that the Mid-majors go one step further and have a football playoff for the non-BCS football teams. Everyone who saw Utah shut out of the BCS championship game last season despite the fact that they were the ONLY UNDEFEATED TEAM in Division I football has to agree.

As Senator Orrin Hatch put it: “For the second time in four years, the BCS-busting Utes have gone undefeated and yet uninvited to play for a national championship. That needs to change because the system is broken. The BCS is fatally flawed and, until it is fixed, will continue to produce a flawed college football champion.”

We don't need to fix the BCS, just like we don't need to fix the NCAA tournament. It's too late. We need to leave it behind!! NIT!!
