I'm not sure why the Giants would want another freak show..They just started breathing again after the whole Barry Bonds fiasco and we all know that Manny quit the Red Soxs, not that I care about them.

He did quit, vs the Yankee and on TV...

Not sure he's the guy to turn anything around

I'm with you Chris - on everything.

Pitching gets you there, balance wins it. I think the Cubs (especially if they wind up acquiring Peavy, which looks all but dead) could challenge in the NL, but we all know their issue.

THE CURSE.

Right on, Anthony.

That's so true about the Giants being one good bat away from a very good team. However, they are two or three bats away from winning the World Series. Same with the Dodgers. When you look at the sheer offensive talent of the Red Sox and Yankees, it's hard to find a comparable National League team. Pitching gets you into the playoffs and through the Championship Series. Hitting wins the World Series. As of right now, the only offensive team I'm really liking in the National League is the New York Mets.

But yeah, Mannywood will exist for another two or three years.
