With USC(5) and Utah(6) winning convincingly against “legitimate” contenders, we have at least 6 teams that deserved a shot at the national championship. Take Ohio State out of a bowl they don’t deserve to be in, the top 8 BCS teams would have created an incredible and dramatic championship tournament…and all deserving of the chance.

Congratulations to Utah for being the only undefeated team in the country and knocking off a team that held the #1 spot for 5 weeks. And to think, because of the BCS corruption, they don’t even have a shot at #2 in the rankings.

The perfect storm for the pro-playoff crowd:

1) USC blows out Penn State.
2) Utah beats Alabama.
3) Texas beats Ohio State convincingly.

Two down, one to go. (Sorry, G.)

By the time the Florida/Oklahoma game is over, and if Texas wins convincingly, we will have four teams with a legitimate argument that they’re the best team in the country.
