The truth is that someone did beat the Trojans which eliminated them from the championship game. And then what Carrol said about a college football playoff...well, ask those teams that finished their seasons undefeated if they would have like a playoff. Having not really followed college football this year, I was watching the game with a buddy of mine (and big USC fan) and I asked him what the spread was. He said it was USC -9.5. I told him I thought that sounded low and he thought it was too high. I'm sure there were some bettors out there sweating the last four minutes, but USC was definitely the "right" side of that bet. :-) You had this game pegged right.
