Hi John,
Can you rank these guys: I need to pick 3 among them.
Marshawn Lynch @Den
Andre Johnson @Oak
Randy Moss vs Ari
Greg Jennings @Chi
Roddy White @Min
Forgot to mention non-PPR league.
Also forgot to mention that you are 5/5 in your suggestions. You are THE man.
Hey John, really need your help.
Non PPR League
I need you to pick one of these combinatuions for me:
1) Aaron Rodgers with Baltimore defense
2) Tony Romo with Miami defense
Although Romo and Baltimore are both generally more effective, I would hate to watch a game in which they both take points away from each other. Let me know what you think.
Jesus Raj, why don’t you just have John draft your team for you next year too?
Not PPR league. Kevin Walter, Deion Branch or Devin Hester? Also, Sammy Morris, Dominic Rhodes, or Cedric Benson?
Hey John, Tanner again (thanks for your help getting me to the big Final game) Here is my million dollar question;
ROMO vs. Bal?
or
Rivers vs. TB?
Which leads me to my other Q;
TB vs SD
or
PHILLY?
Thanks again!
Hey John,
Thanks for the help getting me to the big final game!!
My Q;
Romo vs Bal?
or
Rivers vs. SD?
& Tampa’s or Philly’s D?
Thanks again! -Tanner
Sorry- it said the first Q didn’t go through?
All right, let’s knock these out…
Dom – Gotta go with the hot hand – McNabb. Normally I’d say Westy and CJ, but CJ has a terrible matchup, so I think I’d go with Ronnie Brown instead. KC has one of the worst rush defenses in the league. (Morris is tempting too.) I’d start all three WRs. Definitely Clark at TE and the Giants are the better play on defense.
Mike – Clearly, if Addai can’t play, then Rhodes is the best play. If Addai does play, I still think I’d go with Rhodes since he seems more likely to get the goal line carries. At WR, Smith and Colston for sure. At flex, I think I’d go with Berrian. CLE has the best defensive matchup.
Raj – At WR, Steve Smith for sure. And I’d go with Santana Moss assuming he practices (which he should). The concussion was apparently pretty mild. I think Lance Moore is your best option as a third WR – he has a great matchup against Detroit. At RB, go with Jackson and Williams (he’s fine). At K, pick up Hartley.
Alex – McNabb at QB. Tough call at WR, no studs in there, but they’re all solid. I’d start Royal, Mason and Ward. At RB, MJD is a no-brainer, and you need to start Westy too. I’d start CJ in the third slot.
Bob – Go with Cotch as your WR2 – he has a great matchup. At RB, I’d go with Slaton and Rhodes (if Addai doesn’t play). If Addai does play, I think BJ is your next best option. Daniels at TE and PIT will come to play against TEN. It’s not a great matchup, but PIT has been terrific all year.
Luis – Manning at QB. If Addai does not play, start Rhodes and Forte at RB. It’s tough to bench Turner here, but Rhodes is probably the better play if Addai is out due to Minny’s great run defense. If Addai does play, start Turner (unless Gore comes back, then start Forte and Gore). Marshall and TO are good at WR.
Pradeep – Wow, tough call there. I would rank them: Lynch, Moss, Jennings, AJ and Roddy. AJ has been on fire but OAK has a great corner that might be able to limit him. Lynch Moss and Jennings have great matchups.
Chap – Check the weather in Chicago. If it’s brutal go with Romo & MIA. If it’s nice go with Rodgers and BAL.
Alan – I think I like Branch the best of those three. At RB, if Addai doesn’t play, Rhodes is a great start. If Addai does play, Morris is my next choice.
Tanner – I prefer Romo. He has thrown for at least two TD in every home game this season. Tampa’s DT is banged up, so I’d go with Philly against Washington, which is really struggling offensively.
Can’t believe I made it the final game my first year playing. Thanks for all of your help this season. One last game, help me out. 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 Flex.
WR
Santana Moss
Antonio Bryant
Isaac Bruce
Derrick Mason
Eddie Royal
RB
Ryan Grant
Lendale White
Warrick Dunn
Thanks for all your help. Happy Holidays.
QB- cutler or cassel.
RB-pierre thomas, kevin jones, steven jackson, ryan grant, larry johnson, joseph addai, or dominic rhodes. Choose 3.
WR-Calvin Johnson, steve smith, marques colston, bernard berrian. choose 3. (although i think i know that already)
mostly just curious about QB and a third RB. Thanks.
Hey John,
Hope you can help, b/c i’m in the championship game against a high scoring opponent.

I am going with Moss, but worried about my outcome with him. You think he will get me some yardage?
THANKS JOHN!!!
Thanks JP! So, if I start Jerricho Cotchery as my WR2, Slaton and Rhodes as my RBs.
Who should I start as my W/R ?
B.Jacobs
B.Berrian

Thanx Again
John,
You have got me to the semi.Need your help again. Non ppr.Jacobs and d.Williams are my rb.Need 3 recievers between Boldin, royal,Housh., Mason or Bess. How about at QB Rivers, pennington, Hill,or Garcia. Thanks for you help this season.
Mark
Randy – assuming this is a non-ppr league, I’d recommend Bryant, Moss and Mason at WR and Grant and Dunn at RB.
Alex – Both QBs have good matchups, but I prefer Cassel because he has played better lately and Arizona is terrible against the pass. At RB, I assume you meant Kevin Smith. If so, I’d recommend Pierre, Smith and Jackson at RB, unless Addai doesn’t play tonight. In that case, I would start Rhodes over Smith, because that Saints/Lions game might get out of control early and Detroit could abandon the run. At WR, Calvin, Smith and Colston.
Melvin – I prefer Rodgers due to a much better matchup. If the weather is awful (winds 20+ MPH, sub 20 temps) in CHI, then you can switch it to Rivers. At RB, I would go with LT and Turner. CJ has a really bad matchup. I don’t know how many WRs you start, but I’d rank them the way you have them. On DT, I prefer TEN because Roethlisberger holds the ball too long. TEN is guaranteed 3-4 sacks.
David – is this a PPR league? Regardless, I think Benson is your best bet.
Dom – Westy, Ronnie Brown and CJ. Didn’t I already answer this question?
Raj – I think Moss is your best bet.
Bob – Jacobs.
TW – Bad matchup for Ward. I’d go with Brown, McClain and Faulk. I assume you want me to pick one TE. Tough call – I guess I’d go Boss. On defense, I’d go Bears.
Mark – Boldin, Housh, Mason at WR. At QB, I think I’d go Hill, Rivers, Garcia in that order. It’s tough to bench Rivers but he has a very tough matchup against a stingy Bucs defense. Garcia’s matchup is great, but he’s coming off a leg injury. Hill seems like the best play.
hey thanx for your help last week.
not a flex league
happy championship this week to everyone!
rivers/rodgers
moss/boldin/colston or jennings
lynch/chris johnson or pierre thomas
pitt or gb D/st
thanks much!
1 qb
3 wr
2 rb
1 d/st
apply to last message thanks!
John,
Orlovsky is availiable should i pick him up and start in place of Hill rivers and Garcia??
JP,
Non PPR league I need three WR:
Roddy White
Housh
Boldin
Berrian
Also, what waste of space TE would you go out of these waste of space options:
LJ Smith
Vernon Davis
Anthony Fasano
Thanks!
Non-PPR League, pick two RB:
Ronnie Brown
Joseph Addai
DeAngelo Williams
Sammy Morris
Vlad – Is that Randy Moss? If so, I think I’d go with Moss, Boldin and Jennings, unless the weather is terrible in Chicago, then sub Colston in. At RB, I love Pierre this week, so I’d start him alongside Lynch. CJ has a bad matchup. At QB, I prefer Rodgers, unless the weather is horrible. I’d take the Steelers on defense.
Mark – No, I feel better about your QBs.
Anthony Stalter – Berrian is too inconsistent, so I’d start the other three WRs unless Boldin can’t play. VD has eight catches over the last two weeks and a nice matchup with STL, so I’d go with him.
Biglos44 – DeAngelo is a must start since he’s so hot right now. At RB2 I’d go with Ronnie Brown, who has a terrific matchup. Addai will probably be limited if he does play and Sammy isn’t a bad start, but Ronnie is probably better.
John,
What’s up? Looks like our boy Pierre Thomas has come in pretty clutch in the last stretch. I made it to my fantasy bowl as well and wanted to reach out to you again for some suggestions…you’ve been a solid resource for ffl advice this season.
Once again, non-ppr league, 1 pt for 10 yds rushing, 1 pt for 7 yds receiving and 1 point for 5 yards receiving for TEs.
Starting QB: Rodgers
Starting RBs: Ryan Grant, Pierre Thomas, Thomas Jones
Starting WRs: Boldin, Randy Moss
Starting TE: Zach Miller
Starting K: Nedney
Starting DST: Tenn Titans
Here are my questions:
1) For RBs, I think PT and TJ are a slam dunk. What are your thoughts on Ryan Grant? I have Cendric Benson and Darren McFadden as potential options
2) I am not confident in my WRs because of potentially terrible weather conditions in NE. In particular, I am not feeling confident in Boldin. I have Deion Branch and Steve Breaston as backups and would like your take on Branch v. Boldin v. Breaston as a potential start
3) Injuries have hurt Tenn DST – do you still recommend them as a start, or should I try and pick up 49ers?
4) For my TE position, I’m planning on going with Zach Miller, but it seems he suffered a “shoulder stinger” last week and has been limited in practice. I have Tony Scheffler as a back up but after the goose egg he laid last week, I don’t know if he can be trusted. What’re your thoughts?
Thanks again for all your help, John.
Vinay – I would give the nod to Grant over the other two RBs you mentioned, just from a trustworthiness standpoint. I like Boldin this week, assuming he plays. The forecast calls for a “wintry mix” but unless things are really ugly, I’d go with those guys. Branch would be the next best option, because what’s the point of starting Breaston? (unless Boldin doesn’t play and the weather is decent, then Breaston is a good play). I would stick with TEN and Miller at DT and TE.
Hey John,
Dunn vs. SD, or Devery Henderson @ Detroit?
Thanks again!
((PPR LEAGUE))
Tanner – Henderson isn’t very dependable, so I’d go with Dunn.
what to do??
rb- t.jones, w. dunn, c.williams, l.white, t.choice(2)
wr- b.marshall, t.owens, m.colston, s.moss(2)
te-sheffler or z.miller
k-crosby or hartley
d-panthers or packers
non ppr thanks
HELP!
Rhodes or Jacobs? Time is ticking and I am hearing Addai is starting but can’t imagine him having a huge role. No clue on Jacobs. On my bench is McFadden but not much on the waivers so if I start Jacobs and he doesn’t go then I’m left with McFadden.
AS an FYI my other starting back is Portis now as well. So I’ve got Portis and then either Rhodes or Jacobs.
Hey john
Need help with running backs this week:
Forte
S. Jackson
kevin smith
brandon jacobs
sammy morris
thanks!!
Hey John,
Here’s my situation. I can start 2 RBs & 2 WRs or 1RB and 3 WRs. Also, I’d like the best recommendation on a defense:
RBs:
M. Turner, L. Tomlinson, R. Grant
WRs:
C. Johnson, R. White, M. Colston, L. Evans
Def:
Giants, Dolphins, Saints
Thanks!
John!! Your picks got me to the championship by 1 point!!! Need your help!! Not a PPR League!
McNabb or Schaub
Need 2! AP, Chris Johnson, J Stewart
Need 1. Wayne played last night.. Desean Jackson, Boldin, Gafeny, Hixon, or Cotchery
Need 1 Def.. Arizona, Pats, Texans, Browns, Cinci, Chargers
Hey John,
I’m in a non-ppr league. Can you assist with my line-up?
QB – Thigpen or Rivers
WR – T.O., A. Bryant, L. Moore, Calvin Johnson
RB – Chris Johnson, L White, Slaton, Pierre Thomas
TE – J. Carlson, V. Shianco
K – M. Prater, R. Bironas
DST – Vikings or Dolphins
I forgot…
We go with 2 WR and 2 RB. No flex.
I also fogot….a non-ppr league, 6pts for TD, rushing yds = rec yds in terms of fantasy pts.
Jody – I’d recommend TJ and Choice. TJ is a no brainer, but I think Choice is the best of the bunch. I would hate to bench TO after the Pro Bowl snub, but Marshall and Colston have much better matchups. Miller at TE – more dependable. Hartley at K – better weather and playing the Lions. Those are two bad choices at DT. Can you pick up the Browns? The Jets? The Dolphins? If not – I’d go with the Panthers I guess.
SG – Hopefully you saw on our front page that Addai was active but not starting. I thought it would be more of a RBBC, but Rhodes got almost all the work. I hope you started him.
Stewart – I would start them in the order you listed them.
Tom – I think your best bet is LT & Turner, and Roddy & Calvin (assuming that’s calvin and not Chad Johnson). If it’s ocho cinco, then I’d go with Colston. On defense, the Dolphins are your best play.
ACB2 – Schaub has the better matchup. At RB, AP and CJ look like your best bets. I would start Boldin if he plays, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to. So then it’s between Cotchery and Jackson. I think I’d go Cotch due to the matchup, unless the weather is horrible in SEA. I like the CLE DT this week. They’ve been playing well the last three weeks and have a great matchup at home.
Tony – TB has been tough on QBs. I think I’d go Thigpen. At WR, I’d start Calvin, Antonio, TO in that order. At TE, Carlson is playing great. At K, hmm, Prater should have more opportunity. On defense, I like MIA.
1 WR
I. BRUCE
T.O.
B. MARSHALL
B. BERRIAN
1 RB
M.FORTE (MON Q)
M. TURNER
D. FOSTER
F. GORE
NON PPR
1PT AT 25/YD
5PT BONUS AT 100YRS
6PT TD
Jay – I’d go with Marshall at WR. At RB, if you don’t want to risk waiting for Forte, Turner is your next best option. I think Forte will play, but weather could be a factor too. Might be safer to go with Turner.
Thanks for all the good advice John.
Non ppr
Some of these guys are still on waiver and I wanted your opinion. Which one is best option of each?
TE J.Stevens, T.Sheffler, D.Lee, Z.Miller, LJ.Smith
K Prater, Nedney, Crosby, Hartley
D Browns, Panthers, Houston, 49ers. it’s a stretch but Oakland has put up some good numbers, esp, on special teams. Sorry if I offend
RB situation unforunate. Out of Benson, Choice, D.Foster..who is the better option?? Coming down to the wire with Choice.
Thanks again
John,
needing some help with the lineup its a ppr league need
one rb: LT, Kevin Smith, Sammy Morris
two wr: Bowe, Welker, Royal, Branch
one QB: Shaun Hill, Romo, Favre
DEF: Ravens or Packers available def’s with high projections are pats, browns, texans
k: crosby or nedney
the help will be much appreciated gotta get this guy this week only lost twice all season once bc he forgot to set lineup so any help is much appreciated
John,
I need some serious help in the championship game. (non ppr)
QB
K. Warner @NE
M. Cassel Ari
Leaning towards cassel w/ boldin questionable and the cardinals poor pass D.
RB-pick 3 out of my stacked backfield
D. Williams @NYG
M. Turner @MINN
P. Thomas @DET
M. Lynch @DEN
M. Barber BAL
also had D. Rhodes but he already played….oops
Im leaning towards williams, thomas, turner.
I know lynch has a good matchup vs. denver and turner has a bad matchup vs. minn. But it’s really hard for me to sit the burner when lynch is already dinged up. Lynch has 2 td’ in last 7 games while turner has 9.
Thanks ahead of time john. The help is much appreciated.
Hi John,
Non PPR
TE:
Witten v. Bal
Gates @ TB
I was going to go with Witten, but I read that he may be called upon to block more since Adams is likely to have a difficult time with Suggs.
I’m starting Bryant, need a WR2:
Drive @ Chi
Edwards @ Cinn
Evans @ Den
Holmes @ Ten
Which DEF:
NYG v. Car
TB v. SD
Thanks!
I have Favre and Warner-
Boldin may be out and weather in NE is not looking great. BUT Favre has been sucking it up and does not seem to do well on the West Coast. Who would you go with?
Hey John,
In a non-PPR league, this week is for all the $$$
Start 1 QB – Rodgers or Rivers
Start 2 RB – Tomlinson, Larry Johnson, or Tim Hightower
Start 1 K – Neil Rackers or John Carney
Start 1 Def – Arizona or NY Giants
Tnanks, your help is much appreciated.
John, Me again,
Ok, With Anquan possibly not playing, & Harrison out who do I pick from this list of bums?
Justin Gage vs Pitsburg
Devery Henderson vs Detroit
Antwaan Randle vs Philly
(not much to choose from)
Also- I know I ask you this 2x’s every week, but has your pick changed at all between Romo & Rivers? Its a really hard choice? Romo is more dependable, but has a bruised back playing one of the best D’s in the league. Rivers is not as dependable, but has been playing good and is playing a pretty beat up Tampa Bay D this week? I appreciate all of your help, the guy who I am playing against this week has a starting line up from hell including- MJD, Slaton, AP, Andre Johnson, Steve Smith, Jay Cutler, and the list gos on & ON!
Thanks again!! -Tanner
J L – Non-PPR I think I would go with Lee at TE. He has the best chance to score a TD. Miller would be my second choice from a consistency standpoint. I like Hartley this week in the dome against the Lions. On defense, I like the Browns at home against Cincy. CLE DT has played pretty well of late.
Anthony – I’d go with LT. TB DT is a little banged up and everyone is running on them now. I like Bowe and Welker at WR. At QB, I think I’d go with Romo. He has thrown 2+ TD in every home game this season. On defense, I like the Browns. I’d prefer Nedney in the dome.
Bryan – I think Cassel is the right choice. You may want to have a backup plan available if the weather is horrible in Foxboro. Who are the other QBs available? DeAngelo and Pierre for sure. Turner/Lynch is close, but your reasoning is sound.
Brett – I haven’t read that (about Witten). I’d stick with JW. At WR, tough call, but I think Braylon will have a solid game against Cincy. Keep an eye on the weather. I’d go with the Giants DT, but neither is a good option.
Carrie – They’re expecting snow in Seattle too. I’d go with the QB that has the better conditions on Sunday.
David – I prefer Rodgers, but keep an eye on the weather in Chicago. If it’s bad, go with Rivers. At RB, I think LT and LJ are your best options. At K, go with the guy that has the better weather – or pick a kicker up that has a dome or warm weather game. On DT, I guess I’d go with the Giants, bad matchup and all. If CLE DT is available, I think they’re a better start.
Tanner – I guess you roll the dice with Henderson and hope lightning strikes. TB pass D has been great, so I’d stick with Romo. 2+ TD in every home game this season.
I hope everyone drops us a line at scoresreport@gmail.com and lets us know how they did in the playoffs. And if my advice was instrumental in your winning some prize money, donations to my son’s college fund are always welcome.
I think the best available options are
shaun hill @STL
tyler thigpen MIA
tavaris jackson ATL
I think i’m most comfortable with shaun hill considering the matchups. Do you think it’s worth rolling the dice on one of these, assuming the conditions in NE are trrible.
john
titans or browns defense?
thanks!!
Hey Jon,
Thanks for your help getting me to the title game this week.
I’m in a PPR league, playing against a guy that has a lot of fire power. Dallas Clark got me off to a good start last night, but I’ve got tons more work to do.
First question is about my flex play, please. Have to pick (1) of the following: Eddie Royal, Steve Breaston, Tashard Choice, Larry Johnson, or Santonio Holmes.
Second question: Is Jay Cutler a lock for my QB, or should I play Matt Schaub?
J-Man
Ooops, JoHn…my bad!
Help!!
Need one RB: White, Ward, Benson, or Faulk?
Need one WR: Breaston, Moore, E. Royal?
(I have Brees and Warner… going with Brees)
Oops!
Need TWO WR: Breaston, Moore or E. Royal?
Thanks!
Reference to above post: YES, PPR league.
Hi John,
It’s me again Raj. So here are my questions. Of the following RB’s can you pick 1?
Steven Jackson, DeShawn Foster, Jonathan Stewart.
I am already playing DeAngelo Williams. My final question before i begin this weekend is my Last WR.
Santana Moss, Davone Bess, Devin Hester. Pick 1.
Which one do you still like.
MUCHOS GRACIAS MY FRIEND!!!!
THIS IS IT. My openent killed me with payton manning. He got 24 points.
john
i have fitzgerald and need one more
breaston
holt
davone bess???
thanks!!!
First time on this board. Need help in the finals.
QB: Romo or McNabb
WR (pick 3): Colston, Berrian, Hixon, Hester, L. MMoore, Jennings.
RB (Need 2): Forte, P.Thomas, D.Sproles
Please help-I’m the only girl in the league and in
the finals!
Hey quick question im in the league championship this week who do i start at RB i already have pierre thomas starting and i need another one. michael turner or steven jackson
Who should I start? Cadillac Williams or Warrick Dunn?
Bryan – I would feel comfy with Hill if conditions are bad in NE. Thigpen also, but KC is no treat this time of year either.
Stewart – Titans are pretty banged up. The Browns have a great matchup.
J-Man in Van – I think your choice is between Royal and LJ, and I lean Royal. I wouldn’t say that Cutler is a no-brainer over Schaub, but I feel better about him. Schaub has been great, but the guy is injury prone. I wouldn’t risk it.
Carrie – I like Benson the best at RB. Faulk would be my second choice. At WR, Royal for sure, and then Breaston IF the weather is okay in NE. If not, Moore would be a nice choice in the dome.
Raj – Steven Jackson for sure. At WR, I think Moss is your best bet. It looks like Boldin will be out so Breaston is a nice play if the weather is decent. If not, I think Holt would be my second choice. He has shown a little life the last two weeks.
Debbie – At WR, Jennings and Colston for sure. Then I’d go with Moore at DET. Forte and Pierre at RB.
Justin – I prefer Jackson. Minny has a pretty good run defense and Turner doesn’t seem to get much action in the passing game.
Randy – PPR? If so, Dunn for sure. If not it’s closer, but I’d still go with Warrick.
Hi John – I need to make sure I’m not doing anything terribly wrong during the week of the finals. Here is what my team looks like going into tomorrow.
Starting Lineup
Cassel, Matt QB
Smith, Kevin RB
Turner, Michael RB
Slaton, Steve RB
Bowe, Dwayne WR

I am concerned about my kicker and my defense, here is whats available on the free agents…
Defense
Cleveland (vs CIN)
John Carney (vs CAR), Joe Nedney (@ STL), Kris Brown (@ OAK)
Thanks in advance!
Hi JP,
I have B. Jacobs on my W/R spot…
B.Jacobs vs. Caroline Def.
J.Fargas vs. Houston Def.
Who do you think is a better play this week?
On Kicker…
I have S.Gostkowski… should I keep him or should I pick up D.Akers or J.Carney (NYG) or K.Brown (Hou) ?
Thanks!!
PPR league:
M Lynch or K SMith?
What about QB Romo or McNabb
John,
Who should I start at QB in a nonppr league. Favre in the snow or Delhomme?
Bear – I would prefer CLE DT and Nedney to your DT an kicker. The NE defense could have a nice day if the weather is horrible, but CLE has the better matchup. And I think SF will have more kicking opportunities than TEN will against a good Steeler defense. I would start the three RBs you have over Gore. There’s no guarantee that he’ll be solid with a bad ankle.
Bob – Jacobs should be okay. I prefer him to Fargas. At kicker, Gostkowski is fine but if the weather is awful, it would be a good idea to grab another guy. I guess I’d rank them Brown, Akers and Carney.
Collier – Lynch is very questionable, so I think K. Smith is a nice play against NO.
Debbie – I’d start Romo.
David – If the weather is horrible, go with Delhomme. If it’s so-so or better, Favre is a better start matchup-wise. (The key is the wind – as long as its 20 mph or below, Favre should be okay.)
could u take a look at my lineup and suggest starters? Thank u for any advice
Warner/Cutler
R. Brown/R. Grant/A. Peterson..pick 2
toss up between J.Gage or S. Holmes (i could pick up D. Branch)
BUCS/CAR/49ers-defense
again, thank you for taking the time to answer my question
thanx for the help.
-rivers or rodgers pick 1
-randy moss, colston, isaac bruce, jennings, kevin walter, boldin pick 3
-lynch, pierre thomas, sammy morris, chris johnson pick 2
Critical decision here and thanks for the help!!! I need 2 RB out of: S. Jackson, M. Lynch, or M. Turner……..I need 3 TE/WR out of: Br. Marshall, Roddy White, T. Gonzalez, or E. Royal………also, which K out of: R. Bironas, J. Reed, or M. Prater…….and I think I’m going Brees over Schaub for QB……..Please Help!!! Thanks for the advice! Robert A. – I prefer Cutler at QB. At RB, I’m assuming that’s the Vikings’ AP. I’d go with Ronnie Brown as my RB2. I’d pick up Branch and start him over the other two WRs (cutting Gage). Both Gage and Holmes have very tough matchups today while Branch’s is quite favorable.
Vlad – Boy, at QB it all depends on how worried you are about the weather. Rodgers has a much better matchup, but he’s looking at the following forecast:
Mostly cloudy and windy. Cold. Wind chills may approach -15F. Low around 5F. Winds W at 20 to 30 mph.
For that reason, I think I’d go with Rivers. At WR, Boldin is probably out. Normally, I’d say Moss, Colston and Jennings, but with the weather, it’s a tough call. Colston is a sure start. If this is a PPR league I could see sitting Moss and Jennings for Bruce (dome) and Walter (Oakland). But my gut says to start my studs. At RB, Pierre is a definite start. Since Lynch is in a late game you can’t wait to see if he goes and switch him out if he doesn’t. Can you pick up Fred Jackson? If so I’d start Lynch and sub Jackson in if Lynch is inactive. If you can’t, then I guess I’d go with Chris Johnson.
Ray – For the same reasons listed above, I’d go with Jackson and Turner. At TE/WR, Marshall, White and Gonzo look good. At K, I think Prater is your best bet but it’s a tossup. Brees at QB sounds good.
Championship game: (non-ppr)
Please help…
QB (1): Rivers, Thigpen, Favre
WR (2): R. Moss, Bryant, Bowe, Colston
QB/WR/RB (1): The best of the above not starting
Thanks for your help!
one more thing:
the team I’m playing against has Brees so do I limit his production by playing Colston?
Vlad – That forecast was for tonight – I thought for some reason the Packers/Bears game was tonight. Tomorrow night’s forecast looks better, but it’s still going to be very cold and windy (17 MPH). That makes Rodgers a better start. I guess I’d go with him, but picking against the weather is so dicey.
Brandon – Of those three, I’d go with Rivers at QB. He has played the best and has nice weather. At WR, you have four strong starts. Colston is a good start, so I guess the best guy to bench would be Bowe, though I’d hate to have to bench him.
That’s my last post for a while. Good luck everyone.
John,
I won my fantasy bowl even though Boldin/Breaston/Branch all laid goose eggs (I only started Branch in that group). I wanted to thank you for all your prompt advice the last few weeks. It’s nice to take down the championship and get bragging rights for the year.
Thanks again.
