Let’s start with a couple of questions leftover from the Week 14 thread:
Raj: One last question before you close this week of. Would you keep Warrik Dunn or Jonathan Stewart? I already own DeAngelo Williams.
Well, it depends on who else you have. Do you have another starting quality RB to start alongside DeAngelo? If so, keeping Stewart is an easy choice because you want to have some insurance in case he gets injured next week.

Big thanks to you, I’m in the semi-final 3rd year in the row, but I’m playing a very tough opponent who has DeAngelo Williams, Colts D, Drew Brees, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Thomas Jones and Brian Westbrook… so that make my chance of going to final 3rd year in a row very slim… hope you can help to increase my chances…
I have Peyton Manning as my QB. I will start Brandon Marshall as my WR1. Jerricho Cotchery has not been performing lately… I have Bernard Berrian… who should I start as WR2, or should I pick up any of the players below,
J.Gage, S.Breaston, M.Jenkins, D.Hixon, M.Jones, P.Crayton… not a whole lot of choices out there…
RB… I have B.Jacobs and S.Slaton, I’m afraid Jacobs will be out due to his knee, and Slaton is playing the tough Titans’ D… I have J.Stewart and T.Choice on my bench. K.Faulk, M.Morris, D.Rhodes, J.Fargas still available…
And who should I start on TE, I have O.Daniels and T.Scheffler.
I have Pitts D… but playing Baltimore… I’m worry about them too.
Bob – You should feel fine about PIT. They have been on fire lately. At TE, I would go with the player that has been hotter of late because their matchups are about the same. Scheffler has 12 catches over the last two weeks, so he’s a solid choice. (Plus, with Hillis out for the season, the Broncos might pass even more to compensate.)
I don’t know what’s going on with Cotchery. He was only targeted 4 times the entire game and the Jets trailed most of the way. That said, he did have 15 catches in the previous three weeks and he has a decent matchup against Buffalo this week. Berrian has a great matchup against ARI, but his status depends on Gus Frerotte. If Gus plays, I’d start Berrian. Hixon is the only guy off the waiver wire that I’d consider starting this week. If you can pick him up maybe we can re-assess later in the week.
At RB, Jacobs’ MRI came back negative but his status is up in the air. Is Ward available? If so, I’d grab him as insurance. If not, J. Stewart should be a good start. I am fine with Slaton – TEN gives up a good amount of points to fantasy RBs. Rhodes would be a great start this week but it looks like Addai might play. Something to keep an eye on this week.

Tanner – The Giants have a pretty good defense, and Tony Romo hasn’t been himself, so I would go with Rivers versus KC. I think he’s the safer play. At your flex, Bruce is the right choice at WR.

Randy – I like MIA against SF this week. And I think Bryant is a solid start from here on out.
John – QB & RB look good. I am not terribly high on Cotch right now. Bess or Branch look like better starts. Is this a PPR league? I’d go with Bess in a PPR league. Everything else looks solid.
Alex – I lean Thiggy over McNabb, but it’s close. The CLE DT played well against Indy’s passing attack two weeks ago, but TEN was able to throw the ball last week. If the weather is decent in both cities, I could see going with McNabb if that’s what your gut tells you to do. PHI is still fighting for a playoff spot, so there’s that.
At WR, that’s a rough set. Not that they’re bad, they’re just all about the same. I’d expect Ward to bounce back and have a good game and Mason has been solid all along. Walter is pretty hot and Royal is hot and cold. I don’t think I trust DeSean right now. I’d go with Ward, Mason and Royal.
On defense, I think ARI is your best bet. At TE, I think Clark is worth starting against DET.

All right, let’s try to knock these out…
Geo – the only starter I’m worried about is Gore. Keep an eye on his ankle this week. I like Harrison at your flex UNLESS Addai doesn’t play, then you must get Rhodes in your lineup. At TE, I lean Keller, but it’s very close.
Nanie – is this a PPR league? It makes a difference at WR. At QB, I would go with Brees unless the weather is really cold or really bad in Chicago tomorrow night. If it is, then I’d go with Rivers against KC. At RB, I think TJ and Portis are your two best options at RB, but if Portis is shaky, then White is a good alternative. White isn’t dependable because he’s not guaranteed touches.
Luis – Forte is a great start and I feel pretty good about Turner as well. If Addai doesn’t play, then you can start Rhodes over Turner. I like Gore if he plays, but with a balky ankle I wouldn’t start him over Turner or Forte this week.
Raj – A keg through PayPal?!? You’ve got a deal. Now let’s set your lineup. At WR, I’d go with Smith, Moss and Moore. I don’t like Evans that much with Losman at QB for BUF. At RB, I’d go with DeAngelo and Jackson. Rackers is fine at K.
Hurley – I will do my best to help you win some scratch. At WR, I would go with Moss, Bryant and Royal (over Hixon). I think DEN will open up the passing game more with Hillis out. If your gut says Hixon it’s close enough to go with him instead. At TE, I think Witten is the right choice assuming he’s reasonably healthy going into Sunday’s game. At RB, Portis for sure and then I think Faulk is a bit better (due to the better matchup) than Dunn. I think you have to go with Favre at QB. On DT, I lean Colts at home against a terrible Detroit team.
Dennis – Slaton and White this week. Gore is a gametime decision with a tough matchup and I like LenDale’s matchup against the Texans. I just hope he gets enough touches – he should. At WR, Bryant, Royal and Hixon. I agree on Coles. Tough to trust him right now. At TE, since it’s not a PPR league, Boss seems to have a better chance to catch a TD (or put up a goose egg).
KAYA – I would go with Brees assuming the weather isn’t awful in Chicago tomorrow night. if winds are 20+ MPH or it gets really cold (sub 20 degrees) then I would go with Ryan in the dome against the Bucs. I don’t know how many WRs you need to start but here’s how I’d rank them: Bowe, Colston, Bryant, Royal, Moore. At RB, I’d rank them Jackson, Slaton, Bush…I’d definitely go with the INDY DT and Witten at TE.
T.W. – I’d recommend Ronnie Brown and Kevin Smith (against a suspect IND rush DT) this week. McClain’s matchup is brutal. At WR, Roddy and Hines. At TE, Scaife has been really quiet of late so I’d roll the dice with Boss.
B – I would lean Stewart as well. Hard to ignore what he did last week. Bell would be an okay start but it’s hard to trust Shanahan in this situation. At WR, I’d go with Housh, Boldin and Bess. Mason is tempting, but Bess’ matchup is much better and he’s been great of late.
Pradeep – Hmmmmmmmm. I lean AJ, but looking at Lynch’s performance against the Jets back in November (9 carries, 16 yards), makes me feel better about recommending Andre.
Adam – The praise is nice, but I’m sure that the people I give bad advice to don’t bother to come back! I would definitely start Rhodes if Addai is out. Otherwise, I think Stewart is your best bet.
Vinay – Thanks! I actually won my auction league because Pierre went off after I had to bench Barber (with no Tashard Choice to back him up). Go Pierre!
Shaun – PPR league? If so, I’d go Reggie. If not, I think Pierre has a better shot at a TD. It’s close though.

Hello again…I need advice for two separate leagues.
In a PPR league:
I am starting MJD at one RB but I need a second RB from the following:
Gore: Injury?
Kevin Smith: Nice matchup but Culpepper is likely out and Orlovsky has looked extremely rusty in first practices since his broken thumb. Stanton is just coming back from a concussion and Henson is the other QB. Can I trust any of those QB to prevent Indy from stacking the line?
Jonathan Stewart: Great matchup, but will Dengelo leave enough scraps for him?
Same league I need to pick a 3rd receiver from:
Calvin Johnson: (obvious start except for huge questions at QB)
Marvin Harrison: Great matchup vs Lions
Dwayne Bowe: Great matchup as well
The second league is a non-PPR TD heavy league. I need two RB from the following:

Joseph Addai: Awesome matchup but it looks like he is not going to play
Ronnie Brown: Decent matchup but he has been very disappointing as of late
Sammy Morris: Great matchup but lots of competition in backfield. I am especially leery of Lamont Jordan this week facing his former team.

Scott – I’m not sure how many you can start at each position, but you should start Barber if he plays. After that I’d go with Pierre over Dunn. At WR, I like Roddy and Calvin. If it looks like Brandon Jacobs isn’t going to play, I would grab Ward (even if you can’t start him this week). On defense, I think Buffalo has the better matchup.
Nanie – In that case, Colston, Bruce and Bess. I don’t know what’s wrong with Cotchery, but you’ve got two other good starts (Bruce and Bess) that you can utilize. I would pick up Branch and dump Gage. LenDale works as a flex. The other option is Cotch, but I think White will score a TD this week.
Biglos44 – I’d go with Gore if he plays. After that, I think both Smith and Stewart are decent starts. Smith didn’t practice yesterday, so keep an eye on that. The DEN running game is bad so you’d expect that Stewart would get 10+ carries, but it’s no sure thing. I think I lean his way. I’d definitely go with Bowe of those three, especially in a PPR league. In your other league, I think Morris is a good bet to score, but so is Brown. I would go with Brown because Bill Belichick always wants to screw my fantasy teams.
Ted – How many starters do you need? I would rank them: Housh, Colston, Bess, Moore, Breaston. At RB, tough call between MJD and CJ. It think they’re both going to have big days. In the end I think I’d go with MJD.
Ras – The main reason I like Colston a little more than Moore is because he got 20 targets the last two weeks compared to Moore’s 12. More opportunity usually equals more production.
Dom – In PPR leagues, I think Housh is a must-start.
Scott – PPR means Point Per Reception.
Anon 1 – I would go with Eddie and Pierre.
Anon 2 – I assume you’re starting DeAngelo. Smart move. After that, I’d go with Rhodes IF Addai doesn’t play. It’s an early game so you can sub Rhodes out if Addai does play. After that, it all depends on if Jacobs is active. If he is, start him. If not, Ward would be a good start. At WR, I’d leave your WRs as is. Bess is a good start in PPR leagues, but Mason is a better bet for more yards this week. UPDATE: Addai and Jacobs are both looking shaky to start on Sunday. I would choose Rhodes over Ward.

Mark – I don’t understand your question. In an non-PPR league, I would rank them Housh, Royal, Mason and Bess. Hope this helps.

Vinay – I wouldn’t argue with any of your starters. Good luck!
Randy – I actually like all four of your WRs this week. Put a gun to my head and I’d say to start Bryant and Royal. At RB, the matchups say to go with Grant and White. If this is a non-PPR league, I’d say to do that. If it is a PPR league, you have to get Bush in there, so I’d probably start him over White. Start the other RB in your flex (Bush or Grant). On defense, I’d go with the Jets at home.
Chap – At QB, I have Rodgers ahead of Romo this week. I think Rodgers is the safer play. At TE, Cooley is much more involved in his team’s offense than Boss is on a week-to-week basis, so I’d go with him.
Jamey – The South Park Cows are overwhelming favorites to win my keeper league. Everyone expects them to win, so if they do, it will be no big deal. If they find a way to lose, it will be a huge upset and their owner will be the laughingstock of the league.
Robb – Marshall, Smith and Harrison. I lean Marvin over Santana because he has played so well at home this year. At RB, Jackson and Rhodes, assuming Addai doesn’t play. Gore is very iffy so you may have to start Rhodes anyway. In your flex, I’d go with Gore (if he plays) and Moss (if Gore doesn’t play).
Tanner – I leaned Rivers, but he has had two zero TD games in the last four. Romo is probably the slightly safer play, even with the way he played last week. He has at least one TD in every game this week and 3 TD in every home game. Go with Romo.

Donna P. – Those are three strong choices. I’d recommend MJD and CJ. Tough to bench Jackson, but Jones-Drew and Johnson have terrific matchups this week. On defense, I’d definitely go with the Jets.
Robert A. – Definitely go with AP. After that, it’s pretty close between Grant and Brown (White is missing practice), so I’d go Grant because he’s been a little more consistent of late. At WR, I’d go with Holmes but it’s very close. If the weather is bad in BAL (high winds, sloppy conditions), then go with Gage.
Raj – For me the decision is between Ryan and Hill. Hill has the better matchup, but I trust Ryan more. Hill has averaged 2.0 TD scored in the last five games. Ryan has 4 TD over the last two weeks. I wonder how Hill will fare with Gore out — I think I’d go with Ryan for that reason.
Bob – Did you cut Choice? Addai is missing practice, so if he’s out, Rhodes is a great play. Even if Addai does play, Rhodes is worthy of a flex. At WR, it looks like T. Jackson will be QB’ing MIN. Berrian didn’t do very well with Jackson under center earlier in the year, though he has a great matchup with ARI. I’d roll the dice with Berrian and definitely get Stewart in there as your RB2 or flex.
Jodi – I think Eli is the play at QB. Big Ben and Schaub have very bad matchups and I think Eli will bounce back. Plus, I think the Giants are going to have to put some points on the board to win. Definitely start CJ and Randy Moss. After that I think I’d go with Evans, Bess and Dunn. Walter only had 4 catches for 15 yards when he played TEN earlier in the year. Jamal Lewis looks like a terrible play this week. On defense, I think the Jets are the best play with Buffalo coming to town. Good luck!

Should I still play Lee Evans if I take the Jets Defense. I did that once when Moss played the Jets… when Moss scored that tying TD weeks ago it was a complete wash for me as my defense (jets) had 7 points before Moss scored…hope this makes sense… That is why I am steering away from Evans….what do you think?

I think you have to go with your best plays. This way, if Evans goes off, you are covered. If the Jets shut the Bills down, you’re covered. There’s a good chance that Evans will have a decent to good game and the Jets will score some points on defense.

I had him with 41 points on my bench, and Walter close to 25….My team had a total of about 73…that combination had about 66!! Yes, I don’t expect the same performance this week, but even half of that would be OK with me!! I am supposed to go to the Dolphins game this weekend…and I told my husband I might need to stay home and see how my fantasy players are doing….:)

JP, I heard the owner of the South Park Cows is kinda clueless.
Ironically, I’m facing the same dilemma in two playoff games this week. If Jeff Garcia doesn’t go (which is looking more and more possible, at this point), how trustworthy is Antonio Bryant? Between the two leagues, I’ve got the likes of Driver, Bess, Cotch and Santonio as alternatives. How concerned are you about Bryant if Garcia doesn’t play?
Jake P – I’d definitely go with Romo at QB. At WR, with Garcia shaky, it makes Bryant a little shaky. If Garcia doesn’t go, I think I’d start Smith (definitely), Ward and Bruce. Just too many unknowns with Bryant if Garcia is out. If he plays, I’d probably go with Bruce over Ward, and start Bryant. At TE, I’d go with Boss. L.J. has been playing a little better of late, but Boss has been better on the whole. At K, Brown is a solid play at home. On defense, it’s tough to bench PIT, but the Jets have a great matchup against BUF. In the end, I think I’d go with PIT.
Jodi – I understand. If you feel like Schaub is the play, then go for it. But be warned, the TEN DT is the third worst matchup for a fantasy QB and the third worst matchup for a fantasy WR.
Kevin – If Addai is out, I’d go with Rhodes. White isn’t practicing right now, but if it looks like he’s going to play and Addai plays, then I’d go with White.
Jamey – Garcia was out in weeks 2, 3 and 4 and Brian Griese was the QB. Here are Bryant’s numbers:
Week 2 (ATL): 0-0 (3 targets)
Week 3 (CHI): 10-138 (18 targets)
Week 4 (GB): 4-39 (8 targets)
Not sure how much weight to put on Week 2, Bryant really established himself as the TB go-to WR in Week 3 against the Bears. So, realistically, he posted 14 catches for 177 yards in two games w/o Garcia. That said, McCown, not Griese, would be the QB, so that adds uncertainty, especially if McCown sh*ts the bed. But I think Gruden realizes that he has to get Bryant the ball. If you have a good alternative, I’d probably use it. I like Bess and Driver this week. I don’t know what’s going on with Cotch and Holmes has a pretty bad matchup.

Adam – I would start Ryan. He’s been a little better and he’s indoors against a DT that has struggled on the road. At RB, I’d rank your guys D. Williams, MJD, Jackson, White.
Kaya – Didn’t I already answer this question? I guess you’re wondering about Ward. I’d still go with Jackson. DAL’s defense is playing pretty well.
Ras – I think Slaton is the better play. TEN’s DT is actually mediocre against fantasy RBs.
Jake P – I’d rank them Smith, Bryant (if Garcia plays), Bruce and Ward.
Raj – Lance was a disappointment, but the trends have him getting fewer targets over the last few weeks as Colston emerges. Santana/Evans are both boom or bust type guys. They both have good matchups. My gut tells me Santana, but that’s because I’ve been burned by Evans in clutch situations in the past. Maybe let the weather be your guide?
Danny – Your lineup looks perfect.

It is supposed to be a High of 45 Degrees and Low of 38 Degrees at the Giants Stadium, for Lee Evans.

Jodi – Holmgren said this week that Jones will play this week, so I’d go with Dunn and hope for the best.
Raj – Do you feel like you need a big number? If so, Evans probably has a better chance to have a huge day. If you just need 50-80 yards and maybe a score, Moss is a safer play.

Bob – Rhodes is a great start because it looks like Addai will miss time. Even if he does play, Indy figures to lead early and Rhodes will get most of the garbage time carries. I think you pretty much have to go with Stewart over Choice because we don’t know if Barber is going to play. If you start Choice and Barber plays, you’re screwed. And yes, I think I would go with Berrian.
Big Snizz – Marvin has been very good at home. I’d go with him. At RB, I think R. Brown is your best pay. Smith is questionable and Jamal has been pretty awful this year. Benson’s matchup is a rough one.
Q – I’d start Moss. Let’s just say he should be very motivated against his old team. I think I’d go with Indy DT against a very very bad Detroit team.
JR – That’s a tough one, but right now I’d recommend Jackson who has a better matchup.
Ben – PIT has been the better fantasy DT this year so I’d go with them.
ABC2 – If Addai is out Rhodes is your man. Even if he plays, I think I’d start him over Stewart. On DT, I think I’d take ARI at home.
Hugh – The weather is supposed to be windy in KC, so I’d go Rodgers for sure at QB. At RB, LT is a must-start, and I’d go with CJ at RB2 against a suspect HOU DT. At WR, I’d rank them Jennings, TO, Walter, DeSean, Vincent. On defense, PIT would be my choice (outside against a low-scoring offense). Good luck!
Domenick – I’d recommend McNabb (due to the wind in KC) and Carolina, since they’re at home.
Bear – I like Cassel too. At RB, I assume you mean Kevin Smith. If he plays, I would definitely start him over Bell, but he’s listed as Q so keep an eye on that tomorrow morning.
I will check back later today so get your questions in by then. I probably won’t have time to dole out any advice on Sunday morning.
Joe – Shaun Hill is a solid start this week. Welker, TO and Bess are easy decisions at WR. Ryan Grant at RB. DT, I’d go with PIT. At kicker, Akers, Nedney or Dawson would probably be better, depending on the weather.

Dom – I am mildly worried about the wind but many times in the stadium it’s not as bad as it is outside. Unless reports say that the ball is flying sideways, I’d stick with Bowe in a PPR league.
Shaps – Non PPR and it looks like Garcia is going to go, so I’d start Moss and Bryant.

Jhon – Good Lord. Nice problem to have. I would start Westy, DeAngelo and MJD (GB is terrible against the run and Fred Taylor is out).
DJ – RB, I like Portis. Morris/Bell is a tossup. I would go with Morris to avoid Shanahan screwing me. At WR, do you have to start a TE? If not, I would go with White, Welker and Evans, but that’s me. Kaeding is fine at K.
